More than 1,700 day and boarding students from Year 5 to Year 12 call St Joseph's Nudgee College their school. Of these students, more than 315 are boarders who call Nudgee College their home from home. Our boys are passionate about their school, learning, and making the most of every opportunity. We are a proud Catholic school founded in the traditions of Edmund Rice.
St Joseph's Nudgee College, established in 1891, is a day and boarding school for boys from Years 5 to 12 located in Brisbane's north. As a Catholic school in the Edmund Rice Tradition, the College's ethos and values are shaped by the Touchstones of Inclusive Community, Justice and Solidarity, Liberating Education and Gospel Spirituality. We provide an education that will liberate hearts and minds, following in the footsteps of Blessed Edmund Rice. Our vision is for the young men of Nudgee College to strive in spiritual, academic, social, personal, cultural and sporting aspects of life.
St Joseph’s Nudgee College is one of the oldest, continuing Catholic boys’ boarding schools in Queensland, being established in 1891. The present site of the College was selected by Rev. Br. Patrick Ambrose Treacy, founder of the Australian Province of the Christian Brothers after the Archbishop of Brisbane at the time, Most Rev. Robert Dunne D.D., requested that the educational facilities of a residential College be made available for Catholic boys, especially those from country districts.
The College Museum is located on the first floor of the Treacy Building.
