A very warm welcome to St Margaret’s Anfield CE Primary School (SMA). St Margaret’s Anfield CE Primary School is situated in Anfield, Liverpool and welcomes children from Nursery through to Year Six. We are extremely proud of our school and are delighted to celebrate the successes and achievements of all members of our school community.

We have high expectations for all the children in our school, both academically and behaviourally, and strive to meet the needs of every child.

Our School Motto ‘By Faith and Work’, and our School Rule ‘Be Sensible and Think First of Others’, encapsulate what we work towards in our school. We work especially hard to make sure that children feel safe and happy at our school and provide children with a stimulating and exciting environment in which to learn.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all to share this commitment.

As a Church of England School, our core values of Truth, Fairness, Justice and Joy define us not only as members of SMA, but also of the wider Christian family whose values underpin everything we do. These values are also used daily as they are linked to our reward system. We have a very strong connection with St Margaret’s Anfield Church and celebrate many religious festivals there regularly.

At St. Margaret’s we are committed to serving our community and local area. In so doing so, we
reinforce British Values regularly: Democracy, The Rule of Law, Individual Liberty, Mutual Respect, Tolerance of those of Different Faiths and Beliefs.

At St. Margaret’s Anfield Church of England Primary School we offer a curriculum which is broad and balanced and which builds on the knowledge, understanding and skills of all children, whatever their starting points, as they progress through each Key Stage. The curriculum incorporates the statutory requirements of the National Curriculum 2014 and other experiences and opportunities which best meet the learning and developmental needs of the children in our school. The aim of our curriculum is for children to have the skills to be successful, independent and motivated learners in readiness for their next stage of education.

In St. Margaret’s Anfield, we strive to develop the whole person. We believe that all of our children are entitled to be given opportunities to reach their full potential therefore we must provide for them an education which will enable them to be personally fulfilled and to become socially, morally, emotionally, intellectually, spiritually and culturally integrated members of society. In order to achieve this, we will work together through relationships, curriculum, environment and worship. The curriculum is underpinned by our school’s Core Values of Truth, Fairness, Justice and Joy and these are taught through curriculum areas as well as assemblies. Our school values are at the heart of our rich, broad and balanced curriculum.

At St. Margaret’s Anfield, a full range of national curriculum subjects are delivered in order to offer all of our children a broad and balanced curriculum. These include: English, Mathematics, Religious Education, Science, History, Geography, Art and Design, Design Technology, Physical Education, Music, Spanish and Computing. Personal, Social and Health Education. British Values, Citizenship and Safer Messages are woven within our whole school curriculum.

St. Margaret’s Anfield are responsible for the leadership of one of the curriculum subjects. Each subject leader reviews the curriculum plans for their subject, ensures that there is full coverage of the National Curriculum Programmes of Study and that there is a progression of skills. We endeavour to ensure that all children are motivated, inspired and want to learn. We set high expectations for all children and plan to ensure that there are no barriers to every child achieving. During termly Pupil Progress Meetings the progress and attainment of every child is discussed. Through these discussions additional support and challenge is evaluated and planned for where necessary.
