We are a leading Roman Catholic boarding school for girls aged between 11 and 18 years. We are a forty minute journey from London, and are set in 55 acres of beautiful grounds in the heart of Berkshire. We are a friendly, stable and caring community, proud of our academic and extra-curricular achievements and dedicated to bringing out the full potential of each of our 390 pupils.

St Mary's is a warm and caring community, As a full boarding school with only a few places for day pupils who live nearby, we offer a wealth of co-curricular opportunities., meaning that life at St Mary's is vibrant, exciting and always good fun. We are proud of the strength of our academic achievements and work tirelessly to build on our tradition of excellence both in and out of the curriculum.

  • We are a catholic School, the Chapel is at the heart of our community , the place where we come together for prayers and worship, to share experiences, celebrate achievements, and provide guidance and support for each other. We encourage our girls in there spiritual relationship with God and through this to embody those qualities valued by our founder.
  • We are a girls school, our pupils thrive in this environment, where they are able to pursue academic subjects and other activities according to their own talents and dispositions. They form life long friendships, and learn to be confident and valued in themselves. They embody the prediction of our founder.

St Mary’s is proud of being an academic community. The girls work hard and cheerfully, supported by superb teaching and an excellent pastoral system. They take pride in the improvements they make, they enjoy intellectual challenges, and they are willing to take risks along the way. All of this enables our girls to achieve outstanding results in public examinations, and to go on to a range of top universities both at home and abroad.

As boarders, the girls are able to help each other, forming revision groups around the school in the evenings and on weekends, and benefiting from the availability of staff outside ordinary classroom hours. They also enjoy a generous programme of outside speakers to broaden their intellectual and moral engagement with the world.
