Welcome to Stamford School, where we have been educating boys for over 475 years. Today, for our 700 pupils, we maintain our traditional values but with a very modern outlook. We understand how to build a love of learning and develop intellectual curiosity, to instill the values of teamwork and competition on the sports field and through adventure and to fire imaginations through music, art and drama.

We seek to foster a sense of personal responsibility, service to the community and leadership in every individual. In essence to help him to discover and develop the gifts which are already within him to their full potential. Our ambition is to inspire our boys not only to comprehend the world around them but also to go out to improve it.

Inside of our classrooms the highly prized qualities of collaboration, teamwork and bringing out the best in others are right at the heart of a Stamford School education. Learning may incorporate state-of-the-art technology, but the focus is upon thinking and communicating creatively, and interacting with others to solve complex problems across the whole curriculum.

Stamford School has a strong reputation for success, from academic excellence to outstanding achievements in music, drama, sports and adventure. We foster within our boys a sense of personal responsibility, service to the community and leadership, underpinned by a pastoral ethos which places the well-being of the boys at the heart of all we do. A Stamford School boy is rounded and grounded.

Your son’s experiences at Stamford School will promote a sense of intellectual curiosity and a love of learning which will remain with him throughout life. A broad curriculum coupled with innovative and enthusiastic teaching provides an environment in which young minds are stimulated and developed. Academic learning is enriched by a wide variety of educational visits and international exchanges. Our extensive co-curricular programme completes a well-rounded learning experience, giving our students the opportunity to develop their interests and abilities in an impressive range of activities.

Our pastoral programme is given the highest priority, as we know that happy, cared-for children are most likely to thrive. There are many structures in place to ensure that the welfare of every child at our School is safeguarded and that their progress is monitored carefully. Form Tutors develop good relationships with each member of their set and are quickly able to identify problems. The house system mixes boys across the School, providing the younger boys with good role models and creating within the older boys a sense of responsibility. Student mentors support the younger boys and are willing to discuss any issues they might have.

Our Estate is invaluable and is the physical representation of our Schools. It includes a range of historic, mid-20th Century and modern buildings used for many diverse purposes and activities, each of which plays an important part in defining the character of our Schools.  As a prominent feature within the town, most of our buildings have a historical importance, dating as far back as the 1600’s, and a number of our buildings form a critical backdrop to the conservation of the town.

There are 54 buildings as well as a further 60 acres used for Sport pitches, landscaping and gardens.  Our boarding accommodation positively supports our resident students with over 210 beds.  The Estate sits within a town setting, with a huge variety of academic, residential, commercial and sports facilities, measuring 44,000 sq. m in total.

Stamford Endowed Schools provide the ideal venue for organisations wishing to run residential language, music or activity courses or conferences during the major school holidays and is the perfect place for anyone planning a celebration or special event.

Situated in the historic Georgian town of Stamford, Stamford Endowed Schools offer a combination of beautiful buildings and modern facilities in stunning surroundings.  Perfectly located in the heart of the country, close to the A1 motorway and just 90 miles north of London, this quintessentially English town has its own railway station with easy links to London, Birmingham and the north.
