Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences, Indore

Founded in 2016, Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences is a recent addition to the city of Indore, which is now the educational hub of Central India. The University with its sprawling campus with state-of-the-art facilities and laboratories as well as separate full- service boys and girls hostel makes it the first choice for students in this country. Given the emphasis on Skills and the focus on outcome-based learning as envisioned by the National Skill Qualification Framework, the University was the first to adopt this philosophy.

To crystallise the ‘Make in India’ mission of Hon’ble Prime Minister and to provide opportunities of Skill development along with vertical mobility leading to gainful employment to our youth, Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences has been established in Indore under the able leadership of President and Founder, Symbiosis Padma Bhushan Dr. S B. Mujumdar & Dr. Swati Mujumdar, Vice President, Symbiosis Foundation.

Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences (SUAS) is located at the aesthetically pleasant pollution free location at Bada Bangada, near the airport. The sprawling state-of-the-art campus is spread over 30 acres with all eminent facilities. The main focus of the University is the overall grooming of students’ personality, imparting high-quality education, skills and training in management. SUAS is committed to maintaining the highest intellectual and academic standards. The aim is to help students become well-rounded individuals who are able to think critically about issues from multiple perspectives and communicate it effectively. SUAS is well-equipped with furnished classrooms, seminar halls and learning aids.

The University has offered short-term skill-based courses as well as degree programs in high growth sectors of CSIT, Automobile, Mechatronics, Retail, BFSI, and MBA in BFSI.

The University has already collaborated with over 20 leading industries in India and 12 German Universities of Applied Sciences. In this unique model of Skill Development, top industry leaders such as Reliance Capital, HDFC Bank, Future Group and Mahindra and Mahindra are also setting up their bases on the University campus, to provide skill training to students.

With an investment of over Rs. 200 crores, Symbiosis has created a state of art infrastructure spread over 30 acres of land. Academic buildings, hostels for boys & girls, Centre of Excellence, specialized training labs and workshops, School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Community College are a hallmark of this University.

The University has imported specialized skill training machinery from Germany to impart hands-on practical training to its students.

The Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences, Indore is the first Skill Development University with unmatched innovations in curricula suitable to generate a steady stream of skilled, industry-ready professionals for high growth and high employment sectors such as banking, financial services and insurance; retailing and e-commerce; computer science and information technology; and automobile engineering and mechatronics. In order to meet this requirement, Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences, Indore was set up by the Government of Madhya Pradesh under Madhya Pradesh Niji Vishwavidyalay Adhiniyam, 2007.

The University promotes critical thinking, project-oriented and case-based learning and focuses on practical skills required for the industry rather than dispensing theory-based inputs.

The Symbiosis University Library, even at its nascent stage, holds a rich collection of books on different subjects, magazines, newsletter and journals. SUAS has also subscribed to the EBSCO e-journal package for engineering and management faculties. The library is automated, providing a friendly, comfortable zone to the readers.

The laboratory is hi-tech, well-equipped with computer laboratories to provide facilities to students and faculties. A Wi-Fi zone and 2 leased lines of 25 Mbps internet are available in all the computerr labs providing ample opportunities to students to access online reference material.

The well-furnished, completely air-conditioned seminar hall of 2,680 sq feet with a large seating capacity is ready. A 28000 sq feet auditorium is proposed for various academic interactions and activities like guest lectures from eminent personalities, training programmes, conferences and seminars, MDPs, EDPs, FDPs, and several cultural activities.

The University offers a number of sports facilities at the campus. A sports officer provides training and support for developing, evaluating and monitoring activities of students.

The University has separate hostels for girls and boys with all advanced facilities. It is G plus designed with 6 stories which can accommodate 700 boys and 700 girls in the first phase. There are a 24-hour security guard and CCTV camera for security in the whole campus. Indoor and outdoor games are available. A recreation room with TV, cable and newspapers are also available.
