Systems Security Administrator

Job Summary

Systems Security Administrators must demonstrate technical knowledge of data systems and security procedures, as well as a familiarity with systems hardware and software. They require good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting. It is important that candidates keep abreast of industry security trends and developments, as well as applicable Government regulations.

Typical duties include

• Management of a SIEM (Splunk, ArcSight)
• Monitoring systems security and responding to security incidents
• Participating in security systems testing
• Ensuring integrity and confidentiality of sensitive data
• Preventing and detecting intrusion
• System administration and hardening of Linux Systems
• Reading and writing shell, Perl, Python Scripts
• Security tool usage and maintenance Nessus, Core Impact, ACAS, Splunk
• Yara, Open IOC, or other host based signatures
• Management of an email Security Appliance

Qualifications

• Education Requirements None
• Certification Requirements DoDD 8570.01-M IAT II and/or RHCSA
• Experience Requirements Eight years of intensive and progressive experience in the candidate’s field of study and specialization.
