TAIE, after being inspected by the Ontario Ministry of Education, was given approval to grant Ontario Graduation Credits, and award the Ontario Graduation Diploma to its graduating students. We are truly proud to offer the opportunity for international students from around the world, to come to Canada and immerse themselves in our comprehensive English based study programs, while also experiencing the true societal advantages which Canadian values provide. Successful Graduates of TAIE earn the Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma and with the assistance of our Guidance and Career Counselors, will have the opportunity for further studies in one of Canada's famed Universities.

TAIE International Institute is an international boarding high school, founded in 1998. The main building in Downtown Toronto is situated on Church Street, adjacent to the Eaton Centre, Dundas Square and Yonge Street. Several distinguished schools are also located near the area, including the University of Toronto, the Ontario College of Art and Design Universityand Ryerson University. Because of its' unique, transit-friendly locale and comfortable setting, the school is a haven of peace and quiet amidst the bustle of a world-class city. Toronto opens its many neighbourhoods, both old and new, for students to explore after a busy day of school work; an opportunity for them to enjoy the diverse fabric of Canadian culture.

TAIE International Institute is an international school that provides English as a Second Language (ESL) courses, the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and University Preparation Courses (UPC). Our school has become a model of high-quality education. We are committed to cultivating confidence, strong character and student leadership. Students who complete Ontario High School courses will get an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), and can also apply to any Canadian and International Universities. The main high school course areas include: English, Mathematics, Business, Arts, Social Science and Computer Science.

In order to receive an OSSD, students must obtain 30 secondary school course credits (which include 18 compulsory courses and 12 optional courses). Students must also complete 10 hours of community involvement per year and pass the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT). Upon presenting the original transcript to the school, international students could have the courses taken in their original country transferred to Ontario secondary school credits.

Students who have not graduated from high school, or who cannot apply to universities in the absence of a high school diploma from their home country, are urged to apply for Ontario secondary school courses. These courses are also suitable for students wishing to use their TAIE ENG4U grades in place of English Proficiency Test scores for university admittance.

UPC is a program for international students who have a high school diploma either from their home country or from Canada. This aims to help students enhance their comprehensive academic ability and English skills, and make sufficient preparation for entering university. Students should choose 6 credit courses for their university application based on their career plans. TAIE International Institute provides students with comprehensive courses in order to satisfy their demands and interest.

Before entering UPC, all students need to take an English placement test to determine their own English level. Our ESL program builds a solid and necessary foundation for students before they start UPC.

UPC students can not only increase their average marks before applying to university, but also UPC can help them improve their English levels. Students can become more adapted to a brand new cultural environment. Students and the TAIE guidance counselor will work hard together to meet their university application requirements. The majority of graduates from our school will get admitted to the University of Toronto, University of Alberta, University of Waterloo, Western University, York University and McMaster University.
