In the heart of Taiwan’s capital city, Taipei European School (TES) offers educational excellence, coupled with European culture and values, in the context of Taiwanese society. The simplest way of describing our school is as ‘a piece of Europe in Taiwan’.
Taipei European School consists of four sections: British, French, German and the High School. It is home to 1,700 students and 400 staff members from 50 different nationalities.
The unique nature of our school is founded in its diversity. Around the school, students from different sections can be heard chatting and playing in English, French, German and Chinese all at the same time. In essence, it is the celebration of our differences, but also the love of our commonality, that makes TES such a unique and rewarding place. We are an extended family of multi-nationals linked together by our love of learning.
TES provides quality education for international students from age 3 to 18 – students can start with us in kindergarten/nursery and stay until they are ready to go to university. TES is a non-profit organisation that operates a 180-day calendar running from mid-August to mid-June. The school year is divided into three terms: summer to winter, winter to spring, and spring to summer.
We operate on two campuses: Swire European Primary Campus at WenLin Road, ShiLin, and Swire European Secondary Campus at JianYe Road, Yang Ming Shan. Our growing reputation in Taiwan and Asia has seen demand for places reach record levels. We are hugely proud of the fact that our graduates consistently win places at universities that are among the best in the world.
At TES, excellence in education is at the forefront of our objectives. We provide a rigorous yet nurturing and happy environment in which our students become responsible, culturally-rich, well-intentioned global citizens who are able to contribute positively and constructively to the world they will inherit. We create opportunities within and outside of the classroom that allow our students to develop enquiring, challenging and open minds.
At TES, we consider the whole child. We aim to provide the foundation and structure that will allow each child to develop a love of learning that will stay with them throughout their life. This is combined with an extensive programme that allows each child to find his or her own areas of expertise. Our students are encouraged to develop their own learning pathways, through the promotion of a curriculum that enriches their development by allowing their enquiring minds to explore.
At TES, we pride ourselves in giving young people the platform they need to develop their confidence, extend their learning, and allow them the room they need to grow. By creating a learning environment that promotes adaptation, critical thinking and creativity, TES students are prepared for the brightest of tomorrows.
The mission of the Taipei European School is to provide educational excellence and European culture and values within the context of Taiwanese society. The three key elements of the TES Mission statement are: Educational Excellence: Striving to reach each child’s own potential, Knowing and developing the “whole” child, Developing love of learning, Recognising mobility needs of the students.
European Culture and Values Europe gives us common values that unite us and cultural diversity that strengthens us. Context of Taiwanese Society: Respecting, understanding and learning from our host country, Seeking interaction, partnership and service contribution. To be the school of choice for parents, students and staff who are looking for excellent accredited education programmes delivered in a variety of languages and who want to join an active and caring community.
At TES we believe in:

Thank you once again for doing your part to keep Edarabia the most trusted education source.
Vastly overpriced compared to the quality of education provided. The school board takes the European kids in hostage in a money-making ploy. The quality is on par with a local European public school at private institution prices.
