1. Do not worry too much
In our twenties, we spend most of our time trying to please other people. We often worry if we are actually doing the right thing. When you grow old, you start to think less of pleasing other people. You just have to do what you think is right and forget about pleasing everyone. You must please yourself and all else will fall into place.
2. Straight career paths don’t always exist
It’s one thing to be an idealist and another to be a realist. When you graduate, you are full of hopes, working in one firm, getting promoted, and run your own office one day. To be able to succeed in your career, you need to be open to other options. Your path shouldn’t always be linear. Some people venture out of their comfort zone and find success there.
3. Don’t take failures so hard
Failures can be a drag. But don’t let it bring you down. Do not beat yourself up so much for your mistakes. People make mistakes and not everyone is perfect. Strive for perfection and take failures as opportunities to become more successful.

4. Mistakes
Each career path is unique. You may make mistakes that you need to experience to be able to learn from them. Treat them as your teacher.
5. Every experience is valuable
If you want to change your career later in life, do not think that all those years you spent studying and working for another boss is wasted. This experience helped you become who you are now.

6. Learn to adapt than control
You’re at this age when you need to have control over everything. Instead of attempting to control everything, try to adapt and embrace spontaneity. Go with the flow but do not break. Always be open to change.
7. Trust & Accountability
Always try to see the good side of people. However, do not be afraid to make them accountable for their actions too. If you have your own business, try balancing trust to your people and being seen as a person of authority at the same time.

Do not feel the pressure to keep up. You are the boss of your own life. Set your own rules and take control of your career. Do not let others dictate what you need to do with your life.

9. Patience & perseverance
Know that great things don’t come easily. Without patience and perseverance in your career, you can’t stand the test of time. Hurdles will come and go. Be patient and you will get there.

10. Highs & Lows
At every point in your life, you will have highs and lows. In your twenties, you are confident that you know everything. By the next decade, you understand you may not know everything. Through the next years, your life will be filled with passion and desire to become who you really want to be. This is life. One day you’re up, next day you can be down. Try to find a balance.
