We are proud of our school and stand by our motto: 'Safe, happy, ambitious'. But don't simply take our word for it – come and see for yourself. We would be delighted to show you around. Owing to size of the building we are able to accommodate 36 children into each year group. As a result, we have to mix our classes every year to keep class sizes under 30. To ensure fairness we do this strictly on date of birth. Children enjoy making new friends and get to spend Ame with other classes in our shared learning zones.

Religious educaAon within the school is, in the main, ChrisAan and non-denominaAonal. Each day there is Ame set aside for collecAve worship and it is compulsory unless parents/carers request that their child does not aQend. Your wishes are always respected. We aim to put our children at the centre of their own learning and place great emphasis on nurturing skills and aRtudes such as resourcefulness, resilience and co-operaAon. Our teachers bring the NaAonal Curriculum and Skills Framework alive through topics that engage and moAvate.

Themes include Healthy Body, Healthy Mind, Inventors, Our Back Garden and Technology. Welsh is taught as a second language on a daily basis and teaching staff make very effort to incorporate Welsh throughout the curriculum to encourage children to recognise Welsh as a living language. Physical educaAon is a very important part of school life and physical acAvity is promoted to establish healthy lifestyles and posiAve interests. Our pupils take part in daily physical acAvity. Children take part in physical educaAon, dance, gymnasAcs, games and swimming lessons.

When organising school trips or visits which enrich the curriculum and educaAonal experience of the children, the school invites parents to contribute to the cost of the trip. All contribuAons are voluntary. If we do not receive sufficient voluntary contribuAons, we may cancel a trip. If a trip goes ahead, it may include children whose parents have not paid any contribuAon. We do not treat these children differently from any others.
