UDIS was founded in 2013 and we offer inquiry based teaching mixed with the rigour of the National Curriculum of England. We have grown year by year and are now an IB World School authorised to offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and a candidate school for the Middle Years Programme (MYP). We are also close to completing our accreditation with the Council of International Schools (CIS) and are a CIS member school. We have been successful in offering a student centered programme where the cultural identify and diversity of our learners is valued.
UDIS uses a blend of the National Curriculum of England (NCE) with the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Middle Years Programme (MYP)* from the International Baccalaureate (IB). This provides a mix of the structure, depth and standards of individual subjects from the NCE, with the freedom of the inquiry approach which can help our learners forge understandings across all areas of their learning. With this curriculum we develop learners who can be world citizens with high level thinking skills that can easily continue their studies throughout the world.
UDIS offers Early Years, Primary and Middle Years classes for students from 2 to 15 years of age in purpose-built educational facilities. We will continue adding new levels through to Year 13 (2025/2026) and the Diploma Programme. We have been steadily growing and improving facilities as we grow and have just recently completed our new Primary Years (PY) building housing purpose built laboratories for science, arts and design as well as an auditorium.
UDIS maintains small classes at each level with an average class size of 14 students per class. Early Years classes are taught by a foreign teacher, an assistant teacher and have the assistance of a nanny as needed. Primary and Middle Years classes are taught by a foreign teacher and an assistant teacher. All foreign teachers are qualified and experienced international teachers from a range of countries. We believe a mix of nationalities is important to teach our international curriculum and to meet the expected needs of our diverse student base.
