The Ulm University of Applied Sciences is a university of applied sciences with study courses mainly directed at the technical sector. The study courses have a broad approach to open up a wide range of professional possibilities for graduates. The Ulm University of Applied Sciences is also in a very good position internationally. It has partnerships with more than 60 universities in almost 40 countries. Not only can you spend a semester at one of our partner universities, but you can also do your thesis or a practical semester abroad. In several degree courses it is possible to receive an international degree qualification.

With the Higher Education Act of the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg, which came into force in 2005, the legislator transferred more decision-making autonomy and responsibility to the universities. It particularly strengthens the position of the rectorate. It is supported by the University Council as a controlling body, which is similar to a supervisory board as far as its function is concerned. At the same time, the Act increases the self-responsibility of the faculties.

The bodies of self-administration of the Hochschule Ulm encompass the University Council, the Senate, the Faculty Council, the student representation group as well as the Staff Council.
