Welcome to the Union Preparatory International School, Kindergarten and Nursery. The first day of school is an exciting milestone in your child’s life. Your child is embarking on a journey that will lead them on many roads of discovery and learning. Union Preparatory International School aims to provide young children with a stimulating, exciting, friendly and safe environment, where they can discover, communicate and learn to express themselves at many levels. Play is an essential part of this learning process, and is used to extend their boundaries through which children can begin to understand themselves and the world around them. Through play and activities, music and song, story and poetry, experience, observation and conversation, the overall object of our Pre-School is to provide the foundations on which to build.

Our aim is to meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each individual child allowing him/her to develop into a confident, competent caring and self-aware person, fostering positive growth and development and self -esteem in children. We use The Early Foundation Stage Framework, which draws on the best findings and teaching practices of leading education experts. The Early Years Foundation Stage Framework sets the standards for learning development for children from 6 months to 6 years.

We recognize the importance of continuing professional development for all staff. As well as gaining qualifications in early years care and education, the staff at our Pre-School take part in further training, to help them to keep up-to-date with thinking about early years care and education. The Pre-School also keeps itself up-to-date with best practice in early years care and education through the Nursery World magazine.

Our mission is to provide every child with a quality Pre-School experience. We strive to create a safe, nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment which fosters individual needs. Our staff views education as a partnership between parents and teachers. We believe it is essential to develop a good rapport with each child and parent based on open communication and mutual respect. We believe this is the foundation of a successful school experience.

We believe in empowering children by offering them opportunities to make decisions and solve problems. It is our goal that children will possess confidence in their abilities and establish lasting relationships with teachers and peers. By offering an engaging curriculum it is our aspiration that each child will develop a positive outlook towards school, a better appreciation of the world around them and acquire a lifelong love for learning during their time at Union Preparatory International School.

The aim of our school is to foster the child’s self- construction in our uniquely prepared environment. Each child is able to develop the fundamental habits, attributes, skills and ideas that are essential for joyful, creative and independent learning. The inherent potential of each child is recognized and is guided in a respectful harmonious environment that aims to provide an independent educational foundation for life.
