Founded in 2002 , Universidad Tecmilenio was created to meet the changing demands of the new millennium. Today, the transformation continues, as the Universidad Tecmilenio responds to world megatrends and the demands of the global work market. Our aim is to empower students to develop their own life purpose and to take charge of their own learning. Our New University Model has three innovative features. The combination of all three is what makes this model unique in Mexico and the world.

• Our tailored educational experience gives students the opportunity to choose 40% of their curriculum in Specialty Certificates that are adapted to students’ professional interests, and makes for a stronger résumé upon graduation.
• Learning by doing is the basic component of each and every subject. Practical experience is designed so the learning is reinforced and internalized, and therefore becomes much more significant for the student. Students cover four essential points in each subject, in each of our programs: they experience, conceptualize, and reflect on their learning and demonstrate the new abilities they have acquired.
  And to ensure their successful incorporation into professional life, our students’ education includes a Business Semester or two Business Quarters. Students skills are validated via business immersion planned and evaluated by their professors and executives of the company where they collaborate.
• The third characteristic is: being best place to study and gain not only professional skills, but also the tools for creating happiness and fulfillment in one’s life. And for this, the University works to provide students the necessary skills to acquire tools and practices that allow them to improve their well-being, to be happier and to have a self-defined life purpose. This means that our students explore different disciplines including Positive Psychology.

The Universidad Tecmilenio was founded in 2002 with the backing of Tecnológico de Monterrey. Since its inception, Tecmilenio has distinguished itself as an innovative educational institution, which has experienced tremendous growth throughout the country in the years since in founding.

Another feature of this institution is our commitment to offer graduates a quick adaptation to the needs of Mexico and the labor market.

In 2013, Universidad Tecmilenio launched our New University Model, which is a testament to our innovative nature, because this approach is the only one of its kind in the world.

The most disruptive feature of this model is the importance it gives to the students' long-term well-being, which is based on Positive Psychology and supported by the Institute of Happiness Sciences, created by the Universidad Tecmilenio in 2013.
