Our university boasts 4 Faculties spanning the spectrum of the human and social sciences and an Institute for European Studies. Together, they offer a broad range of Bachelor’s, Master’s and Specialised Master’s, and Doctoral degree programmes, as well as numerous lifelong and executive courses that currently attract nearly 3,600 students from some 60 nations. Our growth and diversification over the years has firmly established our reputation as one of Belgium’s principal centres of excellence in the human and social sciences.

This renown is not limited to our teaching. Our academic staff are active in numerous national and international research networks, and the expertise of our fifteen Research Centres, which regularly play host to international academics, is frequently sollicited by Regional, Federal, and international organisations.

Being a student at Saint-Louis is more than studying, it is about getting to know others, making a contribution and enjoying your time with us. Being a student means taking the initiative, getting involved, reflecting with others on issues that matter, being part of a community, using talents and, last but not least, knowing how to have a good time.

Every year, a thousand new students enrol at Saint-Louis. Enrolment procedures and deadlines vary depending on the programme you choose and its characteristics, but whichever programme you are interested in, it is advisable to begin your enrolment well in advance.

In Brussels you’ll find everything you need to practice your favourite sport regularly at a wide range of sports facilities. If you enjoy running you can work out at any of several superb parks including the Bois de Cambre and the Forêt de Soignes. Several fitness centres are also located near to the university.

The Sports Commission of the Centre d’Action Universitaire (CAU) organises regular 11 and 5-a-side football and basketball competitions. From one year to the next, specific activities will vary depending on the initiatives of members. NB: one for the diary is the skiing trip, which is organised by the Skiing Commission, as a matter of tradition, following the January exam period.

And last but not least, why not consider an annual membership at the Woluwe Sports Centre (find out more here). Saint-Louis students are entitled to a special membership fee of 45 €. To become a member, just fill in the appropriate section on the university application form, which you can also find on your intranet page. Alternatively, you can get in touch with the Student and Social Affairs Service (SAES).

Saint-Louis offers to rent 35 rooms to rent in two mixed student houses located either just a short walk away from the university.

Several furnished bedrooms (including a bed, a wardrobe and/or a shelf, a desk, a chair and a washbasin) are arranged arround common rooms, composed of a fully equipped kitchen, a living room and sanitary fittings.

There are four types of accommodation : room standard with washbasin, room standard + with washbasin, room with private sanitary fittings and studio with private sanitary fittings and kitchen.

In partnership with Quares Student Housing, 141 rooms in the new mixed student residence « Ommegang » located on the Saint-Louis campus.

The residence has 3 floors, each with about fifty furnished rooms, collective fully equipped kitchens and common sanitary fittings.

There are five types of accommodation : room standard with washbasin, room standard + with washbasin, room premium with private sanitary fittings, studio with private sanitary fittings and kitchen and studio for disabled person.

Rents are index linked and vary from 385 to 625 € per month, depending on the size, the level of comfort, the housing equipment and services. This price includes water, heating, electricity, internet connection and cleaning of the common rooms.. Deposit is equivalent to 1 month rent. The lease agreement is concluded for a period of 12 months.

Financial assistance may be available depending on your family's economic and social circumstances. Please note that if you wish to apply you will be asked to provide supporting documents along with the assistance request form. If you do qualify, the amount of assistance can be deducted from your accommodation rent.

The request for financial assistance must be made to the Accommodation Office before the 31st of October of the current year.
