Islamic Studies courses increase the understanding of Islam as a world religion through critical analysis of primary and secondary materials. It focuses on gaining knowledge about the complexities of Islamic societies, cultural expressions, and the role of Islam & Muslims in present & past world affairs.
The course gives students the foundation to specialize in Islamic Studies and would be useful for a career in global relations or anthropology.
