Welcome to the University of L'Aquila established in 1952 and located in L'Aquila, administrative centre of the Abruzzo Region, our University is a public teaching and research institution offering a full range of academic programmes including biotechnologies, sciences, economics, engineering, education, humanities, medicine, psychology, and sport sciences. With 7 departments, the University of L'Aquila offers its over 18,000 enrolled students 64 degree courses (divided between first and second level degrees), 8 research doctorate programmes, specialisation schools, specializing-master courses and vocational courses. Many members of its distinguished faculty of about 600 professors and researchers have received international recognition and are considered leaders in their fields of research.

The CCRUA includes the University of L’Aquila, the University of Chieti and the University of Teramo. Within this committee the three Rectors, the President of the Abruzzo Region and two student representatives carry out the following functions, The University Language Centre provides services as established by Art. 41 of the University's Statute which denotes its institutional functions. The Language Centre is managed by a Director together with a Teaching Committee and Governing Board. The Language Centre aims at providing services and support for foreign language teaching and learning at the University of L'Aquila, its current staff consists of French, English, German and Spanish foreign language teachers.
The University of L’Aquila can access governing bodies and offices together with research structures (departments, centres of excellence, research centres, research service centres, laboratories), the repository of our research products, funding opportunities, information on activities dedicated to technology transfer, patents and spin-offs, agreements and collaboration with other institutions; research training (research doctorates, research scholarships and grants) and evaluation of research activity. University of L’Aquila can access information on the various services made available to university personnel, on public competitions for academic and technical–administrative staff, on public announcements for consultancy and collaboration opportunities, together with information and documentation provided by trade union representatives. An area dedicated to workplace safety and hygiene is also available.
Our University (departments, centres of excellence, research centres) and the activities they carry out (aimed at developing research abilities such as doctorate programmes, grants and scholarships).
