The University of Molise was born in 1982 with the Faculty of Agriculture (Bachelor Degree in Food Science). It is represented by the Rector, Prof. Gianmaria Palmieri, who convenes and chairs the Academic Senate, the Administrative Board and the University Council, has the task of supervising the teaching, scientific and service structures. The University of Molise is spread over three town: Campobasso, Pesche and Termoli.
The University is composed of 6 Departments: Department of Agricultural, Environmental and Food Sciences; Department of Economics; Department of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences; Department of Biosciences and Territory; Department of Law; Department of Medicine and Health Sciences.
The University of Molise has signed a number of International Cooperation Agreements, aimed at carrying out joint teaching activities and promoting mutual research interests. Cooperation programs also allow students and faculty to undertake studying, teaching and research activities at foreign partner Institutions.
The library of the University of Molise aims to preserve and exploit the bibliographic heritage used as research and information tool. The library also hosts or organizes congresses, shows, conferences, seminaries and courses of high scientific level. The library has three seats : Campobasso, Pesche and Termoli. The former hosts the European Documentation Center. A card is required to have access to the services; this can be requested to the relevant library offices after registration.
