UTC’s international policy consists of deploying its strategic mission on an international scale for the purpose of enriching the French model of “universities of technology” (a combination of training, research, innovation and creativity and partnerships with the socio-economic world) and of developing real, inter-cultural experiences for all concerned. Implementing this policy relies on an international, network approach, covering both the EU member countries and non-EU states, on the development of the networking platform through mobility and use of ICTs.
UTC encourages and facilitates overseas stays for its students. These can take the form of courses, technical internships/placements or their end-of-studies projects. In order to match the evolution of professions and modern corporate structures that call for geographic mobility, UTC take part in various international exchange programmes and has signed bilateral co-operation agreements with a number of universities located in all the main regions of the world.
The “open” international policy adopted by UTC guarantees the degree to which non-French students and research scientists from round the world are welcome in Compiegne. They benefit from specific accompaniment and courses to make their stay in France both enjoyable and professionally rewarding: there are summer schools, special international electives, exchange programmes, courses at UTC given directly in English, intensive courses to learn or improve French language skills.
International co-supervision of a doctoral (PhD) thesis implies that the work is followed and jointly by two co-supervisors in two different countries, thereby requiring a double matriculation by the students concerned.
