Here in Singapore, UWCSEA has a unique history: as we build on the impact of our work of over close to 50 years, and as our alumni go out into the world in increasing numbers, we have much to celebrate.
We are a united, welcoming community that embraces students and their families from almost 100 different nations. The second member of the UWC movement, the College was opened by Lee Kuan Yew as Singapore International School in 1971. SIS became the United World College of South East Asia in 1975 and gradually expanded to become the K–12 international school of over 5,500 students across two campuses that it is today.
Our community, while large, celebrates and builds on the success of individuals, with an aim to create a wider impact through our mission. UWCSEA embodies everything the UWC movement stands for: concern and compassion for others, the willingness to accept responsibility, and tenacity in pursuit of the truth. What also distinguishes our students is how much they give service to others: their compassion and commitment are writ large in the many hundreds of hours of impactful service the College bears witness to every year, across a hugely diverse range of activities, and which we celebrate as much as our academic achievements.
What inspires us?
Our mission. As both the starting point and the end goal of a UWCSEA education, our mission guides every decision we make as we strive to educate individuals to embrace challenge and take responsibility for shaping a better world.
The intentional diversity in our community created by our student admissions and staff recruitment policies adds so much to the learning environment and outcomes for our students: diversity and inclusion increases the richness of ideas, it creates an internationalist mindset and, most importantly, it builds deep understanding and respect for others. Our students and staff are encouraged to investigate and value their own different histories and talents, as well as those of other people and cultures.
Our community embodies everything the UWC movement stands for: concern for others, the willingness to accept responsibility, and tenacity in pursuit of the truth. What also distinguishes our students is how much they give service to others: their compassion and commitment are writ large in the many hundreds of hours of impactful service the College bears witness to every year, across a hugely diverse range of activities, and which we celebrate as much as our academic achievements.
Because UWCSEA is driven by its mission, values and educational goal, we create an environment that is underpinned by wellbeing and learning principles, and provide a holistic learning programme through a K–12 concept-based curriculum which thoughtfully and deliberately develops the skills, qualities and mission competencies that enable students to live the mission throughout their lives.

Every day I go to School with my head up, UWC is an amazing school with amazing facilities, and it has a fun and colourful vibe in school.

This school has shaped the person I have become today: having a heart for those in need and seeing the urgency in saving the planet. There really is no other holistic education like UWC.

3 years in the Seventies. It was a quite unique experience as a Forces kid who had never been out of the UK. Was called Singapore International School initially and was fabulously international. Loved it.

UWC is a wonderful school and a place here is sought after. IB scores are amongst the best globally, and yet the school remains true to its charitable ethos.
Children graduating from UWC remain lifelong friends and are very grounded, well rounded young men and women.

Still have lovely memories of my UWC days today! I graduated 2011 and was there for 4 years. I thoroughly enjoyed the teaching as well as the lifelong friendship i have made in this school!

I went from 1990 to 1994 and it was really great. My biggest friend group now that I am 40 is from UWC, my wedding was like a UWC reunion!... now my daughter Lucia goes here and is in K2, and she really loves it.

The old, greying facilities are nothing in comparison to the other campus at Tampines. The field has holes that people can fall into, and the stands are in desperate need of paint. The driveway is begging for maintenance as well. I would not recommend the facilities at this school.

this school is an absolutely great place for both education and sport. The facilities are great and the staff is very experienced and well trained.

Our experience at this school has been nothing short of extraordinary; the dedicated staff and robust IB curriculum have truly ignited my child's passion for learning and remarkable growth.
