We are a community special school in Haringey, North London offering a high quality, child-centred, inclusive and specialist education for pupils aged 2-16yrs with a wide range of special educational needs including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, medical conditions, developmental delay, learning or communication difficulties and social, emotional needs.

We strive to provide the very best learning opportunities for all, and are creative in our approach to ensure a personalised learning journey for your child. Whatever their needs, your child will be well looked after by our dedicated, committed and very skilful staff. We take pride in our relationships with parents and other professionals, the mutual respect our children and young people show each other and the high quality teaching and care that we offer.

Our pupils come from across Haringey and beyond, and we celebrate diverse ethnic, economic and religious backgrounds and explore values of respect, democracy and joy of sharing cultural and religious richness, whilst communicating and embracing overarching British values. Our curriculum provides flexible opportunities to draw on children's experiences to communicate important values in a meaningful context.

  • To enable pupils to learn at a pace appropriate to their Special Educational Needs while offering access to a broad, balanced and relevant education with real life experiences and support to access mainstream opportunities where appropriate.
  • To have high expectations for all pupils, recognising and valuing diversity and preparing them for life beyond school.
  • To maximize pupils’ potential in terms of health, wellbeing, qualifications, life skills, independence, communication and self esteem.
  • To provide a safe, inclusive, creative, challenging, enjoyable, encouraging environment and involve pupils in making decisions and exercising choices.
  • To champion equal opportunities and challenge stereotypical views of disability, race, class and gender and promote the rights and positive images of disabled pupils.
  • To be resilient, reflective and forward thinking, celebrate successes and resolve problems effectively and efficiently.

The Vale School Curriculum is designed and tailored carefully to meet the needs of our pupils. We strive continually to challenge and encourage Vale pupils to reach their full potential and the curriculum is regularly reviewed as part of our ongoing school development.

Vale School is proud to be a Youth Sport’s Trust Project Ability School. Selected as one of the 50 most successful schools in England at working in the area of inclusive sports practice; the Vale provides training, advice and guidance for the school sport workforce in the North London Boroughs of Haringey, Enfield, Waltham Forest and Barnet.
