As an international school we actively seek out opportunities for our students to develop a global perspective and interact with the broad, multinational environment where we are located. Whilst we stay connected to the local community, we also look to venture beyond Verbier to benefit from Switzerland’s natural beauty and take advantage of the central location of Switzerland in Europe to explore further afield. VIS students are brought up together as global citizens.
We provide an educational provision for families who wish to spend the winter months in Verbier but may be based elsewhere. Our school seamlessly accommodates these extra students with a warm welcome into our family atmosphere and inclusive culture. We are rooted in the local community and believe that French language mastery helps us achieve close connections within Verbier but also provides an impetus for internationalism and a more global outlook. The very youngest children follow a bilingual education, and later French language is emphasised.
VIS follows an adapted version of the English National Curriculum which promotes the role of outdoor education, and prioritises the concepts of family, close individual attention and the importance of a well-rounded or holistic education. We offer a huge range of different After School Activities to stimulate our children from cross stitch to golf and dance to debating.
