As the month of Ramadan is upon us, we are reminded that there are people in need around the world. Even with Covid-19, there are still ways we can give back to our communities and help people who need support, whether financially or physically. Here are 10 ways you can give back this Ramadan.

Donating groceries to those in need is a great way of giving back to the community. With many people still suffering from unemployment due to Covid-19, they certainly could use a helping hand. To do so, you could share your willingness to help on social media and spread the word online so that you can reach those truly in need. Grocery donations could range from food items or even household necessities.
Independent charities can always use an extra pair of hands. Find a local charity in your city and learn about what they do for those in need during Ramadan. Volunteer with them and help give back accordingly.
Donate funds to either charities or organizations that work to help others. Alternatively, if there’s an individual you know personally that needs help with their finances, you can donate money to them directly.
Rather than discarding clothes you don’t use anymore, find a charity that accepts clothes donations or directly hand them off to someone in need. There are also many charities that will send these donations to children in need around the world.

You may also buy supplies yourself and donate these to mosques, orphanages or even retirement homes so that they can provide for others on your behalf.
Our healthcare staff continue to be overloaded by Covid-19 patients. A small act of kindness can help them smile and remind them that we fully support and appreciate their efforts. Donate a meal box or give them gifts during this time.
If you aren’t in a position to donate, random acts of kindness can go a long way. This could range from helping a neighbor with their groceries or offering a helping hand to the elderly.
If you’re able to make meals yourself, start a food drive at home and encourage those in need to get a food box from you this Ramadan.
Many have lost loved ones during these hard times. Offer emotional support to people you know who may have to spend the season alone and remind them that you are there for them. It’s undoubtedly a difficult time but we can get through this if we continue to support each other in one way or another.
