Winston House believes in both supporting and challenging children in all aspects of school life, whatever their ability. We aim to help children become creative, self motivated and independent.

Children attending our establishments will gain the strongest of foundations upon which to build their future as confident, considerate and contented scholars.

Our Kindergarten offers care and education of children aged between birth and 5 years, from 8:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday, (excluding statutory holidays).

We are proud to announce that our last Ofsted inspection was awarded “Good” in all areas. The inspector complimented our setting with a “Good” recognition in childcare and an abstract is as follows:

• Children make good progress. Staff have a secure understanding of their key children and their individual stages of development.
• Staff provide creative sensory materials to encourage children to explore using a variety of senses.
• Staff effectively promote children's early literacy skills. For example, they provide resources to enable children to form letters of their name in a tray of popcorn kernels. Staff encourage children to sound the first letter of their name through an action rhyme.
• Staff provide for the individual care needs of babies and young children and help them to form secure attachments with staff.
• Leaders and managers supervise and encourage staff to enhance their professional development.

Based in the heart of South Woodford, just a stones throw away from South Woodford Library, Health Centre and Waitrose. Approximately ten minute stroll from South Woodford underground station and on the doorstep of the 179, 123, W13 and W14 bus stops.

The Ofsted inspector recognised that through our extensive enrichment activities, “Children are beginning to form letters in their writing. They acquire the skills that they need to be ready for future learning or school.”

Working in partnership with parents, Kindergarten (WH) will provide a happy, caring learning community that promotes excellence, where the uniqueness of each child is valued and individual’s needs respected, developing each child to their fullest potential, spiritually, emotionally, intellectually and in relationships with each other.
