Job Summary
Workshop Technician is responsible for carrying out maintenance, calibration, surface finishing, and painting tasks on Emirates and third-party aircraft, components, tools, and equipment in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements. The role involves working as part of a team under the direction and guidance of an assigned Supervisor or Engineer within the relevant trade or cross-trade disciplines for which the job holder has been trained.
In this role you will
- Carry out routine component and tool servicing, calibration, maintenance, modification, and/or approved structural repairs in compliance with manufacturers? procedures while observing all safety protocols.
- Complete any component or tool maintenance and other tasks as assigned by the immediate Supervisor or Engineers. This includes obtaining and understanding the Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC), Component Maintenance Manual (CMM), Standard Practice Manual (SPM), Quality Manual ISO/IEC 17025, or other approved documentation required to carry out the task.
- Assist Supervisors or Engineers in troubleshooting, defect rectification, and performing modifications while following instructions contained in the job card.
- Ensure all work locations are kept clean and maintain excellent housekeeping. Maintain vigilance in ensuring work areas (including the ramp), vehicles, stands, and lockers are free of FOD, and that toolboxes are regularly audited, maintained, and kept clean.
- Promote and uphold a strong safety culture to minimise the risk of accidents and highlight any deficiencies or failures that could lead to such accidents. This includes being aware of and communicating safety shortfalls.
- Ensure prompt attendance to all allocated tasks to minimise turnaround time (TAT) and prevent operational delays or disruptions. Communicate any aircraft, component, or structural defects found to the Supervisor or Engineer, and provide clear handover information during shift changes.
- Perform testing, verification, servicing, and support for overhaul, repair, refurbishment, inspection, and calibration tasks required as per special procedures and respective workshop manuals.
Qualification
To be considered for this role you must meet the below Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Engg in Aeronautical subjects/Mechanical/Avionics/Electronic/Tech Engineering OR Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Licence OR Engineering Apprenticeship.
- -5+ Years of post qualification experience in aviation field, out of which minimum 2 years should be in Structures workshop environment.
