At Cae Top we aim to provide children with a happy, secure and stimulating learning experience. Our school strives to reach the highest possible standard in everything that we do and in so doing this, support children to become confident, independent learners with a thirst to continually learn and to do better. We offer creative learning opportunities that stimulate, excite and enrich, making your child successful now and for the future. We believe that all children have the right to be respected and have the responsibility to learn how to respect others

The staff and governors at Ysgol Cae Top are fully committed to providing the best possible education for all our children. We aim to help your children become:

  • Ambitious, capable learners, ready to learn throughout their lives
  • Enterprising, creative contributors, ready to play a full part in life and work
  • Ethical, informed citizens of Wales and the world
  • healthy, confident individuals, ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society.

Ysgol Gynradd Cae Top was established in 1871 to provide education for the children of Upper Bangor. In September 2009 we moved into our new accommodation, a state of the art, environmentally friendly new building that is fully designed to provide the best possible education for our children. We are very proud of our school, and today, with the school over 135 years old, and over 230 children attending the school, we not only provide education for local children, but also for many other pupils from all over the world.

We have a teacher in each class and an additional teacher for Additional Educational Needs Pupils, an additional teacher providing Extra English Language Lessons for the over seas pupils, and an additional teacher providing Extra Welsh Lessons for certain individuals. We are also fortunate enough to have a number of nursery assistants and classroom assistants to help throughout the school. Approximately 27% of our pupils are accepted from over seas and between them over twenty different languages are spoken in the homes and we are very proud of the multi-cultural ethos that exists in the school.

The school's main objective is to ensure a high standard of education for each pupil according to age, ability and interests, to assist their development as complete individual personalities with an ability to develop and practise their talents leading to qualification as responsible members of a bilingual and multi-cultural society.
