AL Mahd Day Boarding School (AMDBS) began in October 1997 with 40 students and two villas. Today we have three full-fledged campuses in Saar, Samaheej and East Riffa and over 2500 students. In 2004, the school was awarded International Center Status by Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), of Cambridge University, which is one of the world’s leading providers of educational qualifications and assessments. This status reflects the quality of teaching and the high standards of administration demonstrated throughout the school.

We believe that such quality education should be affordable. Therein lays the charm of Al Mahd. However, no introduction can provide a complete picture of our school, so please do visit us and see if we are the right school for your child. The aim of education at Al Mahd is to promote a balanced development of our children through a well-structured curriculum and healthy environment.

We also believe that education is not just about acquiring knowledge but about all round development of the child. A complete education should enable a child:

  • To distinguish between right and wrong.
  • To think logically and take sound decisions.
  • To have a reasonably wide general knowledge of the world.
  • To express himself clearly, in speech or in writing, in more than one language.
  • To develop habits those promote good health.
  • To be a responsible citizen of the world.

Children are the most valuable assets of a nation. To develop their personality, character & skills, good quality of education is very vital. A child's talents can be well developed only in a school with carefully designed curriculum and extra curricular activities. Al Mahd Day Boarding School provides all this and more at a reasonable cost to make good quality education affordable for all.

We believe in having spacious colorful classrooms that make learning fun. Our low teacher-student ratio also enables teachers to give personal attention to all students. Our well equipped science laboratories are designed to help students explore and satisfy their curiosity about science.

We have a mini-stadium that covers an area of approximately 20,000 square meters and consists of a standard football pitch, six-lane running track, two basketball courts, a junior football field, four volleyball courts, a shaded KG corner and provision for field events and seating arrangements. At AMDBS, no stone is left unturned to ensure that our students enjoy good health and learn to excel in their chosen sport.

Al Mahd staff is committed to positive relationships and motivated to work collaboratively in a vibrant and creative team environment. They support each student to achieve excellence in their potential and their personal best. There is a commitment to developing and sustaining a culture of continuous self-improvement and innovation. The school has been consistently striving to synthesize change-oriented technologies along with cultural values where educators act as facilitators to students in the teaching & learning process.
