Dasman Bilingual School (DBS), is an American bilingual school, offering subjects in both Arabic and English. The school, which recently joined Cognita’s international family of schools, opened its doors to 400 students in 1996 with a vision of bringing together the best of both worlds to create generations of students equipped to thrive in a global society. The school has expanded quickly over the years, now featuring seven state-of-the-art buildings and nearly 4,000 students.

As home to one of the largest private school campuses in Kuwait, DBS is proudly the only school that promotes inclusiveness and integration between our mainstream and special needs students, fostering the awareness much needed in today’s global society. Our holistic education approach focuses on nurturing the intellectual, emotional, and social development of each student, preparing them for success both academically and personally. The Kuwait Ministry of Education mandates our Arabic subjects, while our English and Math subjects follow the American Common Core Curriculum, and our science subjects follow the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).

KINDERGARTEN PreK – KG2

In Kindergarten, we prioritize early childhood development, tailoring our approach to each child’s needs. Through cross-cultural experiences, we cultivate social skills and friendships, ensuring a safe, joyful environment. We instill values of courtesy, respect, and responsibility, supporting our young learners with play-based, hands-on activities that enhance motor skills and prepare them for the world ahead.

ELEMENTARY DIVISION Grades 1-5

The DBS Elementary division cultivates global citizens through academic excellence and 21st-century skills. Our homeroom teacher system, led by expert educators, ensures specialized instruction. Every year, we emphasize technology integration and support programs such as Monster Phonics, Raz Kids, IXL and ALEKS to enhance learning, while collaborating with our school community. We strive to foster student success, preparing them for a bright academic future. STEAM challenges, coding, and robotics programs further enrich our curriculum.

MIDDLE SCHOOL Grades 6-8

The DBS Middle School division includes grades six to eight. Our certified international educators bring expertise and global perspectives to enhance learning. With programs like IXL and Britannica, we align with Common Core Standards, offering advanced math and English skills. Project-based learning and a coding and robotics program further enrich our curriculum.

HIGH SCHOOL Grades 9-12

Our High School division prepares students for life after graduation, with a focus on English-language instruction. With a 95% university enrollment rate, our graduates achieve success on a global scale. Elective courses in Business, IT, Art, and Advanced Placement expand our curriculum, while STEAM projects foster academic excellence and global citizenship. Extracurricular activities like competitive sports, Model UN, and community service projects enrich student experiences.

SPECIAL NEEDS Levels 1-12 and Voc.

The DBS Special Needs division supports students with tailored education plans for independent living. Individual Education Plans (IEPs) guide instruction, ensuring each student’s needs are met. Our Vocational Program offers practical skills through Edexcel, ASDAN, and BTEC courses, fostering personal growth and preparing students for the workforce.

ARABIC AND ISLAMIC STUDIES Department

The Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies at DBS offers comprehensive Arabic education from kindergarten to twelfth grade. Beyond the core curriculum, special programs and cultural competitions enrich students’ experiences. We also prioritize partnerships with parents and organizations, fostering a 21st-century educational environment. Our focus on leadership development includes initiatives like Dasman Scouting Group and Dasman Talk that help us build our future leaders.
