Brummana High School (BHS) is a private, non-profit institution governed by a Board of Governors. The ultimate responsibility for the ownership, Quaker ethos and well-being of the school rests with the Quaker International Educational Trust (QuIET), based in London and registered under the Charities Act of the United Kingdom.

BHS is a Quaker coeducational day and boarding school which seeks excellence academically, and in the arts and sports, and aims to promote integrity in its students. Each member of the school community ensures that students from diverse backgrounds are prepared to be responsible citizens and life-long learners, respecting each other and helping the community.

BHS aims to be an internationally recognised Quaker educational institution that embodies excellence in education and service, attracts students from diverse backgrounds and serves the needs of students from Lebanon and the region.

The school’s motto is “I Serve”. BHS is passionate about nurturing self-reliance, cooperation, friendship, non-violence, honesty, simplicity and compassion, and, above all, building in students the ideals of service in accordance with the “I Serve” motto. Old Scholars of the school continue to embody the “I Serve” tradition long into their careers and lives.

At Brummana High School (BHS) we strive to offer comprehensive preparation for the adult world. Besides imparting information and knowledge, the school tries to develop the student’s intellectual curiosity and critical thinking. It encourages the students to achieve the cultural, physical and artistic fulfilment of which they are capable.

The school continues to nurture the Quaker values BHS was founded upon in 1873, those of simplicity, peaceful resolution, tolerance, equality, justice, respect and sustainability. Students are taught to be self-reliant, cooperative and to value friendship. Above all, the school builds in students the ideals of service in accordance with the school motto: “I Serve”.

I'm an old scholar of the school, it was my home throughout my school years and still is today. Most of the friends that i have today, i gained at BHS. It is hands down, the best school in Lebanon, if not the best school in the whole region. The level and standard of education is top quality, and the sense of community the school gives students, teachers, parents, staff and everyone else is amazing! BHS I Serve, forever and always.

Iam an old scholar and a teacher .My encounter with the school both as a teacher and a students was amazing and memorable .Three of my kids are old scholars as well and my youngest in his last year .The school campus and atmosphere is addictive and friendly. All teachers from KG1 till grade 12 were trained in a short period of time to go on line and continue the curriculum during the Clovid 19 lockdown .Around 36 teachers did the Cambridge online courses and got their certificates during lockdown as well .All work was successfully accomplished for this year .Iam very glad that I was part of this school that promotes development.

Brummana High School is not just an educational institution that offers different programmes; it is a place where psychological and social growth takes place. Its Quaker values ensure that all learners work with dedication and integrity towards building a better community. The spirit of togetherness that characterises the school shows in its motto, ‘I Serve’, which instils in students an indelible sense of responsibility and appreciation. School life at BHS is unique and magical, one that makes every single individual enthused to do more and make every single day count.

Glad to share a few words of appreciation for Brummana High School. My sincere gratitude to the school and all the respected teachers of Class 6A. During this unprecedented situation, the way, teachers planned a curriculum in no time and effectively implemented it digitally, is very much highly appreciated. We understand that managing kids in a class is not an easy task, and we now know that managing them virtually is beyond imagination and the way Brummana High School and the teachers managed the class was just superb job, making sure that every student is getting chance to speak plus maintaining the interest of every student in the class is indeed a mammoth task that teachers performed extremely well. As parents, observing my kid in the initial classes was so much fun. We are really grateful to you Brummana High Scool and all the class teachers for commendable efforts. Online classes have re-engaged my son and made life easy for us. Many thanks again and again.
