ANU is a world-leading university in Australia’s capital city, Canberra. Our location points to our unique history, ties to the Australian Government and special standing as a resource for the Australian people. Our focus on research as an asset, and an approach to education, ensures our graduates are in demand the world-over for their abilities to understand, and apply vision and creativity to addressing complex contemporary challenges.
The Australian National University (ANU) is a celebrated place of intensive research, education and policy engagement. ANU is home to an interconnected community of scholars. The University is located in the heart of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia.
Choose ANU and know that you will be studying at Australia's leading university, in league with the world's best. ANU consistently ranks highest in national and global graduate surveys for overall employability, as well as starting salary. We're ranked first in Australia and 22 in the world for graduate employability.
The Australian National University has a rich and diverse history. Across our campuses, ANU manages places with Indigenous, historic and natural heritage value. These heritage values are embodied in the landscape, the buildings and the complex histories of the sites, the people who lived and worked at there, the events that occurred, and the discoveries that were made.
The Australian National University is endowed by the nation to bring credit to Australia through the quality of its research, education and contribution to societal transformation. Our strategic planning reflects our priorities and responsibilities to the nation, the region and the world.
ANU is committed to equity and diversity, and is actively building a more inclusive culture where all staff are supported to reach their full potential in their academic or professional careers. In recognising the increasing need for an institutional approach to mental health, The Australian National University (ANU) has developed a mental health strategy. The strategy is based on current best practice in post-secondary student mental health.
The past two centuries of dispossession and racism have profoundly impacted all aspects of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander life, including access to institutions like ANU. This is the legacy that ANU recognises, acknowledges and accepts. Current generations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples bear their histories into institutions like ANU, which benefit enormously from the opportunity to learn from them.
The University's vision for reconciliation is to be a place that facilitates learning that respects cultures and diversity: a place where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people come together to engage with their chosen discipline, contextualised by an understanding of our shared history. ANU will make an important contribution to reconciliation by furthering learning, research, services and public knowledge in relation to Indigenous issues.

Thank you once again for doing your part to keep Edarabia the most trusted education source.
This is a huge campus. Lots of food options, near the heart of Canberra city. Amazing learning facilities and a tonne of childcare options.

Beautiful place but over the year is being redeveloped. Hope the university would preserve the beauty of nature surrounding and green scenery around campus. The big trees pathways in front engineering building and also near h.a building are to keep for years to come.

Great lecturers, lots of food options, and plenty of sporting societies to join. Unfortunately, with the all the new construction going on, the main thoroughfair has been closed off, turning what should be short walks to different classes, long ones.
There's also an incredible lack of places to study with just about every library and student centre packed. Those that aren't, are too far out of the way to be of any use for the average student.

If you want to have a (near) top-tier US university experience in Australia, especially for postgraduate students to be connected with the elite academia society (in the world), ANU is the priority choice for you.
ANU has a music school but it does not have a museum comparing with US ivy league universities in terms of intellectual expansion.
Most of Professors have PhD degree from Ivy league Unis from the US and some from Oxbridge and G8. ANU is very strong and competitive in law, humanities, Asian studies, medicine research, natural science, (and) engineering is well employed.
But students are not actively engaged in social events, and Canberra is a very boring place for undergraduate students as well as for low employment locally, unless you want to work in the Australian government.
Housing and water shortage are problems as well in Canberra. Canberra does not have a CBD, but it has a small "Civic". Do not expect decent social life in Canberra. Most students come from Sydney and Brisbane, and some from Perth, a few from Melbourne.
International students encompass large proportion in ANU, and projects and final exam can be very challenging and innovative. Do not come to ANU if you think you are not good enough for graduation purposes.

It is indeed one of the best universities in the world. As a Ph.D. student in ANU, I enjoy every moment studying here. The level of the researches here is even higher than many universities in USA and UK,..

Did my undergrad here - the uni is becoming more and more concerned with making money than with producing educated and well rounded young citizens. If you're not studying science and not a research student, they don't really care too much about your experience. On the plus side, beautiful campus and always plenty to do and see!

Oceania's top university and one of the top universities in the world. Excellent undergrad experience as long as you put in the effort. If you expect to be handheld like at mediocre universities then this is not the place for you.

Regarding my own experience, ANU is definitely one of the best universities in Australia. High qualified teachers, good students. As learning economics at ANU, I can always get the chance to attend many high level seminars or meetings held by uni.
