The equality of women and men is a fundamental right enshrined in the constitution is an essential value for democracy. This right should not only be legally recognized: it must be effective and affect all aspects of professional, social, political and cultural. It represents a major challenge for the future development of our university. The Charter for equality between women and men in higher education was adopted by the Conference of University Presidents in January 2013. It aims to support the implementation of an effective equality policy in universities. If the public higher education and research guarantee women and men equal rights and equal access to all jobs, grades, functions and training, the reality of the situation is much more diverse and complex: inequalities in the paths of women and men persist , both among staff and between students and students.

This high place of knowledge and culture far exceeds - by its history as its students - the other Parisian universities

It is a very beautiful place. The library is great. The place is well positioned lying near the Luxembourg garden.

The largest and oldest university, a prestigious and a piece of history. An impressive building, architecture, attention to every detail. Today the administrative center located in central Paris, in the Latin Quarter. A must see.

It is a university where freedom of expression is disappearing (see the conference of Marwan MUHAMMAD canceled under the pressure of some extremist groups).
