A leading private tertiary education provider, combining elements of the Christian faith with a continuously high-standard of academic achievement, Avondale provides an environment that is inclusive of people of all faiths and beliefs.

Avondale is proud to be part of a worldwide Seventh-day Adventist church educational network that includes 99 universities and colleges with a combined enrolment of almost 90,000 students. There are also 5,500 secondary and primary schools, with a combined enrolment of almost 1,000,000 students. Should you choose to come to Avondale for your undergraduate or postgraduate educational experience, you will be attending a leading private tertiary education institution with a faith-affirming community, ample opportunities for spiritual growth and service, and excellent employment prospects.

Avondale’s undergraduate, postgraduate and vocational courses and programs seek to develop the whole person—mental, physical, social and spiritual. Higher education courses include undergraduate degrees in humanities and the creative arts, business, education, nursing, science and mathematics, and ministry and theology. Postgraduate masters degrees, by both coursework and research, are available in many of the same areas. Doctoral degrees are available in Education, Arts, Nursing, and Ministry and Theology. Avondale also offers a higher education Diploma of General Studies and vocational awards in outdoor recreation. All courses of study have received national accreditation.

Avondale accepts the challenge of learning and discovery, of striving for excellence, and of fostering creativity that blends individuality, wisdom and healthy self-evaluation. It values spirituality and believes nothing is of greater significance than each person’s relationship to God as Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer. Avondale also values the sustainability of the earth and its peoples and encourages members of its learning community to realise their full potential and to live full and joyful lives. Avondale’s motto, “For a Greater Vision of World Needs,” leads to a more informed understanding of humanitarian needs and responses and to a greater commitment to fulfilling those needs.

Avondale accepts the challenge of learning and discovery, of striving for excellence, and of fostering a creativity that blends individuality, wisdom and healthy self-evaluation. It promotes excellence in the higher education it offers, in the quality of the infrastructure it develops, and in the spiritual and academic support services it provides.

Avondale values spirituality and believes that nothing is of greater significance than each person’s relationship to God as Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer. Avondale invites all its staff and students to respond positively to God’s invitation to commune with Him in prayer, worship, meditation, fellowship, study of the Bible, and Sabbath rest.

Avondale seeks to encourage members of its learning community to realise their full potential, and to live full and joyful lives. In achieving this goal Avondale enhances social skills, values friendships and supports family relationships. It seeks to provide the guidance and nurture that will enable its students to respond intelligently to their own needs and to the needs of others.

Avondale’s motto, “For a Greater Vision of World Needs,” challenges its learning community to a more informed understanding of humanitarian needs and responses, and to a greater commitment to fulfilling the needs of those less fortunate and in want of human care and support both in Australia and overseas.

Avondale values the sustainability of the earth and its peoples and believes that this can be achieved through balance. Learning to live a balanced life is based on living temperately and Avondale encourages this by providing a balanced program of spiritual growth, intellectual development, cultural enrichment, physical activity, relaxation and recreation. This program sustains Avondale’s human resources. A balanced approach to budgeting and infrastructure management sustains Avondale’s physical resources and the environment.

The education here is top-notch, with passionate staff always ready to lend a hand, and I’ve witnessed incredible growth in my child's confidence and knowledge.

I just started living on campus at Avondale, I must say, I absolutely love it. I particularly want to say how grateful I am for the high quality meals that Nick Hartigan and his team put out for us every day - 3 times a day on campus at the cafeteria. Keep up the good work.
