Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology is dedicated to academic excellence with a commitment for the holistic development of the individual and the society. Founded in 1968 under the provision of Republic Act (RA) 5363, MSU-IIT is known for its excellence in science and technology and its passion for extensive research and community involvement.

MSU-IIT is a state university where solid integration exists between different local religions and cultures. The university is led by Chancellor Sukarno D. Tanggol, DPA supported by different offices and governed by the Board of Regents of the MSU System. MSU-IIT's impact has always been toward global competitiveness, which made it into a world-renowned institution for higher learning. MSU-IIT is welcome to visitors throughout the year. We admit about 3,000 freshmen a year and are continually committed to being a convergence zone for students from different cultures and tradition. We offer up to 54 graduate programs. These programs empower the students and professionals to explore varied avenues in the pursuit of national development. The MSU System Admission and Scholarship Examination is conducted annually every September for incoming freshmen. Here you will find the results and guidelines/requirements for the exam. Located in the heart of Iligan City, Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology has contributed greatly in the development of technology for the city through its ICT office projects and researches.

MSU-IIT offers a great experience and life inside the campus. The University has a huge variety of clubs and associations for the students to discover and different events and activities to keep the campus lively. The university encourages every student to express their creativity both in and out of the classroom. They can share their works in the universities art galleries and a variety of exhibition spaces on campus. Be part and have fun by being a member of the athletics club in msu-iit. Different clubs with one goal in mind – be the champion. The student organizations here at MSU-IIT provide educational and social functions which enable students to develop their management, leadership, communication and social skills. Every year, the university holds different activities and events to celebrate and commemorate.MSU-IIT offers the quality education needed by the students to meet the competitive global standards. The university has 9 degree-granting schools and colleges in addition to the high school and the graduate’s study which they could choose to suit their individual talents and passion.

MSU-IIT is adapting new ways of using online technologies to enhance educational experience and improve the quality of education. There exists a wide variety of facilities in the campus designed to enrich the educational and functional experience of both its students and its constituents.

The University will initiate and undertake projects and studies which will bear on the manpower needs, the industrial growth of Iligan and other development projects including those needed by the specific industries and environs (MSU Charter: R.A. 5385). The MSU-IIT researchers include faculty members, visiting scholars, post-doctoral fellows, and graduate and undergraduate students, and they collaborate with colleagues across the University, at affiliated institutions, and at other research institutions.

Currently, for the advancement of the university, the researchers of the institute provide vast knowledge, insights and solutions in the 7 major areas for research. Drawn from the different departments of the university, the professors generate the knowledge and innovations in creating researches for the sole development of the university.The students will contribute to the university's goal to promote, generate, enhance and develop the researches for the institute. MSU-IIT produces two major publications devoted to scholarly discussion of academic subjects and as outlet for researchers in the Asia Pacific regions. MSU-IIT has 7 individual libraries, each with a world-class collection of books, journals, films, maps, databases.
