The University is growing its reputation as a leader in the field of enterprise. In 2012 the University was awarded the prestigious Times Higher Education Entrepreneurial University of the Year and followed this up in 2013 when it was awarded a Queen’s Awards for Enterprise: International Trade. Professor Liz Towns-Andrews, Director of Research and Enterprise, also received an individual Queen’s Award for Enterprise Promotion.
We have helped a number of graduates to set up their own successful businesses and have a fantastic Enterprise Team who are here to help students get their business ideas off the ground. The Duke of York Entrepreneur Centre, housed in the 3M Buckley Innovation Centre, is a great hub for students who wish to set up their own business and provides a great opportunity to network with other students and local businesses.

I love this University. Even though its not as well known as some; the courses, tutors, support service and facilities are excellent. There is a nice sense of Community on the campus, with friendly catering and cleaning staff and a University Police Officer. The Uni is continually expanding and updating the facilities according to the advances in innovation. The library is a personal favourite, its inviting and well stocked with easy loan services. Computers throughout the campus are numerous which vary from desktop macs/pcs to huge lecture theatre screens. There are numerous Car parks around Huddersfield which are cheaper than some cities, and the University is a ten minute walk to the Train Station. Overall a welcoming and friendly Uni :)

I just finished my fist year of architecture here and I'd say that overall the quality of the course is average(things might change in better later on). The facilities are satisfactory to poor, especially the architecture studio. It is overcrowded so you don't have enough space to work all the time, also the computer suite is old and inadequate. The tutors are good and usually help you, but you have to do most of the work on your own without any formal training.

The facilities at the University are fabulous. New and modern technology is apparent throughout the campus but as a music student I feel I should only comment here really: the studios contain superb 5.1 capabilities with an online booking system which means that if you commute like I did, you can book a slot and don't have to be up early in order to get first in the queue. The music technology store is also highly organised and has a wealth of fantastic equipment which can be booked out in person. The teaching and administration staff are all highly skilled and qualified and made the learning experience fun and engaging. I was surprised at how much contact time teaching staff afforded to students - each has plenty of times every week which a student can book to see them! If you're lucky enough to study here, and work hard, I'm confident you'll do well and receive a fantastic degree and experience in the process!

I studied at the university and was lucky enough to also work at the university as Systems & IT Support Officer of the Business School. I enjoyed both studying and working at the university, and feel proud to be involved of the university's strategic vision in improving teaching and learning.
The university is going up, up and up as each year goes by.

My son has just finished here and has achieved a first in Graphic Design. He has enjoyed his time here and we would thoroughly recommend this university for any prospective students. The support he has had from his tutors and other students has been second to none. Sometimes the advise he has had hasn't been positive but he has always been told what he needed to hear. The tutors are honest, always there but a little tough, which is the thing lacking in some places.

My daughter has just graduated with a LLB/MLP law degree and spent four very happy years at the University. When we initially visited what struck us most were the friendly, welcoming, approachable and informative staff. After attending the law study day, which gave a great insight to the degree, my daughter was adamant that Huddersfield was the University she wanted to attend and she has had no regrets whatsoever. I would definitely recommend Huddersfield University.
