We’re an undergraduate university that is known for providing a quality liberal arts and sciences university education and fostering a spiritually vibrant and caring community of learning on a beautiful and environmentally friendly campus. We’re also recognized for the scholarship and creative activity of our qualified faculty and the interesting and engaging academic, artistic, athletic, musical and theatrical events that we sponsor as part of our mission of Christ-centered teaching, research and service to the wider community. Our academic programs in the fine arts, humanities, sciences and social sciences, as well as in business and teacher education, are taught in the context of a commitment to a comprehensive vision of Christ’s lordship and redemptive work. We seek to give expression to this commitment in all the programs and support services of the university. Small classes and a low student-faculty ratio allow students to be mentored by faculty. Experiential and cooperative education programs enrich the educational experience, while off-campus programs allow students to experience different cultures. Professional and dedicated staff encourage student development in a variety of co-curricular programs.

Redeemer University College is a Christian undergraduate university offering programs leading to Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education degrees. From its Hamilton, Ontario campus, Redeemer has prepared graduating classes — the next generation of Christian leaders — for more than 35 years. Redeemer students are being shaped by the Reformed Christian commitment to see faith woven through all aspects of learning and life. From the classroom to the convocation stage to careers and churches, our faculty, students and alumni are making an impact that resounds in our culture and across the world.

The mission of Redeemer University College is:

  • To offer a university-level liberal arts and science education which is Scripturally directed and explores the relation of faith, learning, and living from a Reformed Christian perspective;
  • To support research and creative endeavor in this context.
  • To advance knowledge through excellence in teaching and in scholarship;
  • To be an academic community in which faculty, staff, and students can develop intellectually, socially and spiritually;
  • To equip students for lives of leadership and service under the Lordship of Jesus Christ;
  • To reach out through academic service to society;
  • And in all these things to glorify God.

To be internationally engaged as an excellent liberal arts and sciences university that is unabashedly Christ-centred and prepares students to reflect a distinctive worldview in any vocation and place they are called. The overall purpose of the institution is to equip students to fulfil their callings in the Kingdom of God by providing them with a post-secondary education that is grounded in Scripture. Such a Christian education will enable students:

  • to discern the biblical basis of a Christian worldview,
  • to translate this worldview into a systematic framework for academic work,
  • to acquire an understanding of the profoundly religious nature of cultural formation,
  • to acquire an historical awareness of the conflicting spiritual roots of contemporary culture, and
  • to apply and develop these insights in the various liberal arts and science and in an area of disciplinary specialization.

Such an education will help strengthen students’ commitment to the Christian faith and better prepare them to exercise their God-given talents and abilities in the full range of life’s callings and vocations. Students will be enabled to understand the times in which they are living and the direction in which their society is headed and to strive for the furtherance of the Lordship of Christ in a life of service to God and their neighbour.

Students should develop a well-informed and critical awareness of the main features of contemporary Canadian society, and be able to relate their academic studies to a future vocation of Christian service in our society. The Cross and Our Calling was originally written in 2003 as a way to give fuller expression to Redeemer’s religious identity and founding vision as a Reformed Christian institution seeking to serve the broader Christian community. This document builds on the other supporting and official documents of the university such as the Statement of Basis and Principles, the Educational Guidelines.

At Redeemer University College, the dedication of the staff transforms education into a journey of personal growth, and I've been amazed to witness my child's remarkable progress here in Ontario.

Beautiful campus, although I don’t attend redeemer personally it was a very welcome and friendly environment which made me wish I went to school here. Campus and grounds are very clean and well looked after.

I am a first year student, and I absolutely LOVE Redeemer. The faculty truly care for the students. It is a very small college, but I like that because the students get more attention and more aid in doing well academically. Mind you the meal plan is not as desirable as it is advertised. Aside from that Redeemer is a school worth investing in.

Redeemer hosted both OCAA Provincial Indoor Soccer Championships, for both mens and womens teams.....Redeemer Univ./College was a great host, their staff was incredible, and their facilities second to none....when you have ten teams, both men and women, it isn't easy to host such an event over a three day period....job well done for the hosts and the organizing committee!!! Cheers!!

The dome is a great place to play the overnight ball tourney but they need to get on the soccer players to clean up their mess (water, Gatorade bottles) after they're done. Also, they could use a vending machine and an ATM in the sitting area.

This place was my home during my time at university... Not just because I spent most of my time there, but because when I was I away from it I always wanted to go back. It's an incredible community of students, staff, and faculty who desire to work together to seek God in today's world. I'm happy to answer more questions about my time there if someone reading this is considering going but wants to talk to someone who went there... Otherwise I'm just gunna leave these stars above. :)

This school is the worst school I've ever been to. They don't have to follow any rules because they aren't funded by the government. If you have a choice to go here or another school ANY OTHER SCHOOL IS BETTER! And if you want to try and transfer good luck because no other university will take their credits!

The education I received at Redeemer was top notch. Not only did they teach me what they wanted me to know, they also encouraged freindly discussion and debate on everything we learned in class and you could openly disagree with a professor and still pass. Oh and it has an awesome student to teacher ratio for post-secondary education.

Professors are amazing here. Love the school, the community, and especially the music department. I'm glad to have solidified my love for music and biology here.
