Great Minds Early Childhood Center opened its doors in February 2014. Areti Panagiotou, the manager of the nursery, had a passion for education from an early age when as a primary school girl used to help in her mother’s KG classroom. She completed a BA degree in Early Years education and then she went on to do a postgraduate course and MSc in Speech and Language therapy in City University of London, U.K. She worked in the UK as a Speech and Language Therapist and in Greece as an Early Years Teacher. Later qualifying as a Montessori trained teacher she wanted to combine her knowledge to create a unique nursery setting in Dubai. With the strong support of her family, after over 8 years of working with special needs children at the Dubai Centre for Special Needs she felt the time was right to help other children reach their full potential – and the idea for Great Minds Early Childhood Center was born.
Great Minds Early Childhood Center is located behind Box Park next to City Walk. The nursery uses the Montessori approach to promote children’s social, cognitive and physical development. The approach is child centered with strong respect towards the individual's personality. The objective is to provide children a happy and safe environment which will promote their natural growth, in line with their intrinsic sensitive periods of development. Great Minds Early Childhood Center is the only nursery in Dubai that has appointed a full time Speech and Language therapist. The speech therapist's role is to work closely with the teachers to support the educational program and identify those children who have language and communication difficulties. Assessment, consultation and home programs are offered to those children as well as monitoring of their progress in the nursery setting. In addition there is close co-operation with parents and training programs on communication and language development are offered.

The staff here are truly exceptional. It is clear that they aren't just doing a job; they are deeply passionate about early childhood education. They are highly experienced, patient, and incredibly kind. The nursery maintains exemplary standards of cleanliness. Facilities are great, and they provide wide range of extracurricular activities along with Montessori curriculum. Best start for children's education.

I’m very happy with Great Minds Early Childhood Center. My son is attending this nursery second year and he enjoys.I have long way before I choose this one and it’s best decision. Other nurseries are more difficult in communication, not that much focused on individual approaches. Here I found completely different trusty environment. That i was looking for. It’s very easy to access the manager or teacher at any time, i have every day verbal updates and application updates. The nursery is not big and all the teachers and assistants know all children and every parent that’s super cool. They have outside safely closed playgrounds and everything for activities, great bonus Montessori system apart proper educational process. I’m updated about everyday activities and development of my son. I am the mother who cares about child and need to know what he is doing and if he is safe at every time. I would definitely recommend this nursery!!!!!

My son is attending this nursery second year and we are very happy. They have everything for study and activity. Montessori system is very useful. The atmosphere is very warm. There is always support and individual approach. Also proper communication. Definitely would like to rate as 5 stars nursery.

Our family couldn't be happier with our experience at this nursery. We had two of our children attending at GMECC, and from the moment we walk through the doors, we are greeted with such a warm, genuine welcome that it truly feels like a second home. The educational programs are amazing, offering a perfect balance of play-based learning and structured development that has seen our child flourish. This high standard of learning is supported by incredible amenities and modern facilities that provide a safe, stimulating environment for exploration. My child has been attending Great Minds Early Learning Center, and I have seen meaningful growth in his communication, independence, and social interaction. The teachers are patient, attentive, and genuinely understand child development. The environment is clean, structured, and play-based, which has worked very well for my child. We couldn’t be happier with Great Minds Early Childhood Center. Our daughter has been attending for over a year now and is starting her second year and the experience has been wonderful from the very beginning. Before enrolling we had visited many nurseries in Dubai and looking back we can honestly say that choosing Great Mainz Early Childhood Center was the best decision we could have made. It feels like we really struck gold with this choice. From the start we felt very well supported. We have direct contact with the management and every single staff member is genuinely kind, caring and approachable. Last year her teacher was incredibly dedicated—always meeting the children at eye level, focused on their well-being and encouraging independence in a way that aligns beautifully with Montessori principles. At the beginning we had real concerns, because our daughter spoke hardly any English. To our surprise she picked it up so quickly that she now speaks more English than her mother tongue German, which has been such a positive and unexpected development. When we first enrolled we were also worried about the move to Dubai and our frequent travels. But it quickly became clear that the structure and warm environment of the nursery gave our daughter so much stability and security. She adjusted seamlessly, gained confidence and really started to thrive. What we love most is how the nursery empowers children to feel capable and confident. Our daughter has grown so much in her self-esteem, motor skills, social skills and learning abilities. She absolutely looks forward to going to nursery every day, talks about her friends with joy and is surrounded by a truly multicultural environment where children from all over the world learn together. The nursery also supports our decision to raise her in three languages and takes this into account with great sensitivity, which we truly appreciate. Another aspect we deeply value is the open communication. Whether it was potty training or any other concerns the team always worked with us to find the best solutions. The app is also fantastic—we receive daily updates and photos which gives us a wonderful glimpse into her day. And when we pick her up the teachers always take the time to talk, share insights and answer questions. This is not just a childcare facility—it is a true place of learning, growth, heart and belonging. The Montessori materials are excellent and it’s evident how thoughtfully everything is set up to support the children’s development. After moving to Dubai, we toured more than 20 nurseries looking for the right Montessori environment for our 3-year-old. We have been with Great Minds ECC since January this year, and my child is absolutely delighted to go every single day. She attends with joy and without any tears, which speaks volumes about the atmosphere and care the teachers provide. The nursery follows the Montessori approach, which I truly appreciate. Children are encouraged to be independent, learn through hands-on activities, and explore at their own pace. My daughter especially enjoys the creative crafts and practical life lessons that help her gain confidence and important skills. The staff are warm, professional, and genuinely care about the kids. Our twins are going to Great Mind early childhood centre from August 2025 and we are incredibly grateful Great Mund early childhood and the entire staff. As parents of twins with developmental delays, finding a place where our children feel safe, supported, and genuinely understood was extremely important to us and this place has exceeded our expectations in every way. Before choosing this place i have been to 15 different nurseries and schools but i was not convinced but the day i entered this facility i felt like this is the one who can help us and our twins. Here the teachers and support staff are patient, compassionate, and truly dedicated to helping each child grow at their own pace. They take the time to understand our children’s individual needs and strengths, and they celebrate every milestone, no matter how small. The communication with families is excellent, and we always feel informed, included, and listened to and have meeting every month. What stands out most is the warmth and respect shown to our children every single day. Our twins feel happy and comfortable at school, and we have seen real progress not only academically, but socially and emotionally as well. It’s clear that this is a nurturing environment where children are valued for who they are. We are so thankful to have found a setup that treats our children with such care, dignity, and encouragement. We highly recommend to any family looking for a supportive, inclusive, and loving learning environment.
