New updates implemented in July 2020 have made some heavier fines for violators. For instance, driving with a mobile phone may be common and would cost you 200 AED fine, now, it will cost you 800 AED.

How to Pay Abu Dhabi Traffic Fines
Anyone can enquire about and pay for traffic violations using the traffic ID, car plate number, or license number online. Just visit Abu Dhabi Police website or Abu Dhabi e-government portal. You can proceed with online payment unless you are instructed to visit the traffic and licensing department.
Follow these steps:
You will have to register on the Abu Dhabi Government Gateway website using your Emirates ID card and PIN number.
If you wish to pay to the Traffic department, you can visit the traffic department located in Baniyas East. This is particularly useful if you wish to pay by cash. The department is open from 7.30 am to 2.30 pm.
You also have the option to pay over the phone, call the traffic hotline 8003333 and follow the instructions.
