Choosing where to study is a big decision and we’re all different individuals. Our focus is on teaching and learning, giving all students, regardless of their starting point, the best chance in achieving their ambitions. It really is as simple as that.
Today, the College has its base in three major areas as well as delivering learning in community settings and workplaces around the District. Our College is committed to working in partnership with local schools, employers and learning providers to transform learning, attainment, achievement and progression for everyone in the District.
The College is home to over 7,000 students, of all ages and abilities, studying a broad range of courses, from pre-entry level through to higher education and professional qualifications.
Our students achieve great results in their exams. The 2015/16 academic year saw the overall A Level pass rate reach 97% - the 11th year in a row it has exceeded 95% with 14 A Level subjects achieving a 100% pass rate.
Students on our Extended Diploma produced another set of excellent results with 19 subjects achieving a 100% pass rate. This year we also celebrated 25 students gaining three distinction stars – the highest results possible.
What are students say is important to us and we ask them their opinion every year. The annual student survey looks at all aspects of our student’s experience including quality of teaching, resources and support. Findings from the survey are presented to senior college management and help inform strategic planning.
The Governing Body of Wakefield College determines its membership within the restraints which are clearly set out in the Instrument and Articles of Government. The Governing Body comprises 16 members. The majority of the members of the Governing Body lives, works, or has links within the Wakefield District.

I did the level 2 counselling course last year. Absolutely loved it. The tutor Sally Ann Armitage is a credit to the college. She's so amazing inspiring and her knowledge is second to none. I would recommend the course. The college staff are all happy to help. The faculties are great.

Great college with first class facilities and fantastic tutors. The friends you make here you keep for life. Currently studying hairdressing and counselling but did my Access to University Course here a couple of years ago. The staff really push you to be the best you can possibly be.

I spent 2 years in Wakefield College doing GCE in Applied IT Double Award. I met some good people, made friends, got my A-Levels and my Science GCSE which I couldn't get in High School. I really really really like the teachers I had the pleasure to be taught by. Nice, approachable, very professional staff who know their job and material perfectly well. Facilities around the campus are clean and comfortable. The library is well organised and has a convenient system that lets you take out books yourself. There is a lovely cafe in the new building. There are some good career advisers too. It was a pleasure to study at Wakefield College.

Studied A Levels in Business Studies, Law and IT at Wakefield College. Thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the course. Tutors were very helpful and always supportive. Each subject had great mix of classroom based studies, assignments, field trips and group work. My time at the College fully prepared me for University.

Have been to many educational facilities within the UK and abroad. This college could possibly be one of the best, not because of it's current facilities but for the pure reason that it's always improving.
Recently the college has undergone heavy external and internal Deco as well as upgrades to the facilities available.
I've been going here for 2years now and the staff here are all helpful, fun and friendly. They've helped me achieve all that I can thus far and continue too, to this day.
