The Trible Library is the intellectual center of Christopher Newport University. We help students develop research skills and support the scholarly and personal growth essential to the study of the liberal arts and sciences. We combine the best of a traditional library with modern technology to create an interactive learning experience for the 21st century.We are a founding member of the Virtual Library of Virginia and offer students access to collections on the level of a major research university. Local university collections are also available through the Virginia Tidewater Consortium.

Each semester you participate in the President’s Leadership Program, live on campus and meet the GPA requirements, you’ll receive a minimum $500 residential scholarship.

The Office of Counseling Services (OCS) provides a range of services to address the mental health needs of the student body and university community. We are committed to maintaining a safe and comfortable place for students to talk about their concerns – a place where they can not only be understood and respected, but also encouraged and challenged.Our staff of dedicated mental health professionals is devoted to providing the highest quality of counseling services to the campus community.

At Christopher Newport, students lead diversity and inclusion efforts through their involvement in the Student Diversity & Equality Council and our cultural and identity-based organizations. Annual events like the Intercultural Festival, the Conference on Leading Change, the MLK Celebration, and Umoja work to strengthen, challenge, and celebrate the diversity of our campus community.
