Trusity proudly participated in the Gulf’s largest annual student art show, organized by Funun Arts Group and Youth Creative Minds, with support from the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment. This prestigious event was hosted by De Montfort University.
During this remarkable gathering, three talented students from Trusity took the stage as youth speakers, addressing the critical issue of climate change in alignment with the COP28 initiative. Their speeches were both enlightening and inspirational, resonating with the audience.
Neeti Bhise, a student from GEMs Modern Academy, delivered a compelling speech on how the youth can actively contribute to ensuring a sustainable environment. Her insightful words resonated with the audience, emphasizing the power of youth-driven change. Gauri Nanda, a student from Indian High School, Dubai, discussed the influential role of the circular economy in ecosystems, its impact on climate change and shedded light on innovative solutions to protect our planet. Shyam Manikandan, representing Delhi Private School, emphasized the importance of reducing our carbon footprint and its profound relevance in the context of climate change. He concluded his address with a poignant quote from Chief Seattle: “We don’t inherit the earth from our ancestors; instead, we borrow it from our future generations.”
In addition to Trusity students participating as youth speakers, Trusity also conducted engaging workshops on generator crank and Micro:bit piano over the course of two days. These workshops were exceptionally well-received, with numerous students expressing their enthusiasm and enjoyment in the learning process.
The event made it increasingly evident that fostering awareness of climate change among our youth is paramount for a better and more sustainable future. Climate change is an imminent global challenge that requires proactive efforts from every sector of society, including our young leaders. It is our responsibility to educate and empower the youth to make informed choices and take action to mitigate the effects of climate change.
The organizers of the Annual Student Art Show are Shiba Khan and Farah Khan of Funun Arts Group and Khan Ayaan Abdulla and Mohamed Huzaifa Khan of Youth Creative Minds (YCM) Hub.

More than 700 students from 50 different nationalities showcased their artwork, with the involvement of 35 global mentors, 15 youth ambassadors and over 50 youth volunteers. It explored the theme ‘We Can Change Climate Change’ for students in the age group of 5 to 25 years.
The event was inaugurated in the presence of honorable guests, including Mr. Suhail Mohamed Al Zarooni, Chairman of Al Zarooni Foundation, Mr. Khalil Abdul Wahid, Director of Art and Literature Dubai Culture and other dignitaries from all over UAE, as well as the guest of honor Mr. Mohammad Issa Al Rawahy from Oman.
