Brophy College Preparatory, the only Catholic, Jesuit high school in Arizona, strives to educate the whole person through rigorous academics and innovative technology, through outreach and service, and through retreats and personal reflection. In the Jesuit tradition, Brophy graduates "Men for Others" - leaders in the global communities they serve.

The four transformational years a young man spends at Brophy are just the beginning of his lifelong journey of learning, of faith, and of service. He will leave Brophy as a young man of competence, conscience, and compassion with a deep faith rooted in love and serving others. As a Jesuit institution, Brophy adheres to the vision and legacy of St. Ignatius of Loyola who founded the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits) almost 500 years ago. Ignatius believed that a strong educational foundation was vital to a strong spiritual foundation and set about creating a network of institutions that would educate future leaders of the Church and the world.

Brophy is the only Jesuit high school in Arizona, and one of a network of 63 high schools and 28 colleges and universities in the United States. For more than 80 years, Brophy has been committed to the Jesuit ideal of educating the whole person – body, mind, and spirit. Rigorous academics and a stellar athletic program combine with the heart and soul of our Jesuit institution – the Office of Faith and Justice – to transform our young men into leaders committed to service and social justice – Men for Others.

The Brophy experience is so much more than a comprehensive college preparatory education. Yes, a Brophy graduate is ready for the rigors of college, but more importantly, he has become a Man for Others - someone whose heart and mind are open to the world around him. He's developed a deep awareness of his gifts and talents, he’s learned to think critically about the world around him and, as a result, he understands the importance of living his life in the service of others.

Brophy College Preparatory is well-known in the Phoenix community as an incubator of National Merit honorees and AP Scholars with 99 percent of its students going on to college; however, the Jesuit hallmark of Intellectual Competence is only one part of the formation of a Brophy graduate. The true value lies in the overall approach to education dictated by Brophy’s Jesuit identity as articulated centuries ago by St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus. The Jesuit philosophy insists that educational and spiritual formation must go hand-in-hand to create a citizen of the world prepared to lead with competence, conscience and compassion.

To that end, a Brophy student is educated to be intellectually competent, open to growth, religious, loving and committed to doing justice, the Jesuit ideals of the Graduate at Graduation. From his first steps on campus, a Brophy student is challenged in the classroom and on the playing field, inspired through service opportunities, and supported and encouraged during chapel and retreats. Brophy’s academic program supports the school's mission to educate the whole person and to form young men who are intellectually competent, open to growth, religious, loving, and committed to doing justice—the five hallmarks of the Jesuit Graduate at Graduation. The curriculum leads students toward intimate investigation and experience within all courses of study: the English humanities, religious and ethical studies, social studies, science and technology, mathematics, fine arts, health and physical education, and world languages. The focus is not on rote memorization but rather inquiry and exploration that prepares students not only to succeed in the university arena and the world beyond its walls, but also to affirm where the world is working for the greater glory of God, to question where it is not, and to work as agents of change wherever positive change is needed.
