Clapham Manor Primary School is an oversubscribed two form entry school with a separate nursery building set in fantastic grounds on the edge of Clapham Common. Choosing the right school for your child’s education is an important decision. At Clapham Manor, we pride ourselves on the relationships we have with our children and families, ensuring that all children are known, valued and their individual needs recognised and met.
We carefully consider what knowledge and skills children will need to have in order to be successful in an ever-changing future. We have high academic aspirations for all our children and as a result standards are high. However, it is equally important that they develop and grow into well-rounded individuals, with an intellectual curiosity to become good learners. We aim for our children to strive for success and persevere when they are challenged but equally to know how to win with dignity and lose with grace. Through inspirational teaching and a broad, balanced and creative curriculum, our children receive memorable experiences both in and out of the classroom.
At Clapham Manor Primary School and Nursery, we are lucky to benefit from unusually generous facilities and surroundings which include a dedicated music room, food technology lab, astro turf sports pitch, library and a woodland learning area for Forest Schools. We also have some exciting plans for the future to continue to enhance these extensive facilities.
The school is going through an exciting programme of initiatives. Our wilderness garden and other natural-world learning experiences are being used by all pupils and teachers as an embedded part of our curriculum. We are developing our gardens into beds to grow fruit, vegetables, and herbs to be used in cooking lessons and in school lunches. Any surplus will be part of the upper school pupils’enterprise and commerce activities by being sold at Venn Street Market. Our most recent building activity has been to create a science laboratory centred around food. This laboratory combines all the resources of a food technology room with the ability to do exciting food science projects and learning.
We aim to provide the highest standards of education, in an inclusive environment, through effective learning and teaching for all, with a broad, balanced and personalised, relevant curriculum that includes all statutory requirements. We value equity and inclusion and believe that in supporting all learners to become confident individuals able to live safe, healthy and fulfilling lives they will become lifelong learners and responsible citizens who make a positive contribution to society that deals effectively with economic, social and cultural change.

Lovely school. My two sons have attended Clapham Manor since nursery and they're very happy there. The large majority of teachers there are brilliant, enthusiastic about their job and supportive when there are issues. Children perform extremely well. There's a very nice community feel to it too. Highly recommended.
