At Corneli Primary, we believe we can offer these things. We pride ourselves on the broad, balanced and full curriculum we provide from the Early Years upwards, with each child achieving the standard that they are capable of.

We are also proud of the atmosphere of friendliness and co-operation, which is always evident in the school. Our staff are always willing to discuss your child and their progress and we welcome your interest and concern. If you do happen to have a problem, please make it known at once so we can deal with it quickly. Although our staff will do their utmost for all the children in their care, if your child is helped, praised and encouraged at home, then our task in school becomes a more productive one.

When your child starts in school, you as a parent, become part of our school family and partnership. You must never underestimate your part in your child’s education. You can give your child a happy, stimulating time in school by giving them clear guidelines of what is expected of them in their behaviour and learning in school. Give your child plenty of praise when they do something well. Children love to be praised – they thrive on it. Always expect high standards from your child. By reading to and with your child at home, it will encourage and develop a love of books. Help them to care for equipment such as toys, construction kits, pencils etc.

Working together we see Corneli Primary School as a happy, caring community of learners where all are welcomed and valued. Working together we see Corneli Primary School as a community that supports and challenges all to achieve to the best of their abilities and become successful global citizens.

To achieve our vision we aspire to the following Aims:

  • Maintain high aspirations for what all learners can achieve.
  • Empower our pupils to become literate, numerate and technologically able with appropriate skills and values so as to function effectively and respond to change in their communities and the wider world.

  • Encourage a love of life and learning, and as a community be committed to supporting every learner’s success.
  • Stimulate and challenge learners in a creative, enjoyable and secure environment where all feel valued and safe.
  • Inspire learning through a passion for bringing a rich and varied curriculum to life and engage pupils, families and the wider community in this.
  • Create an innovative and dynamic school, that responds positively to the rapidly changing world in which we live.
