We are a two form entry Primary School located in Sutton, close to the Merton border. As an inclusive, community school we believe that every child deserves the best possible education in a supportive and challenging setting. Staff and children work together to create a learning environment in which everyone can flourish and achieve their full potential, both academically and socially. We have developed a vibrant curriculum, filled with many rich and stimulating learning experiences. We have high expectations of all of our pupils and are rightly proud of our high standards.

High aspirations underpin the vision of our whole school community. We are totally committed to continuous improvement. Mutual respect is at the heart of our values and is reflected in all relationships within our school. We are determined that every child should feel safe and valued, fulfilling their potential, and that no child should be left behind.

At Culvers House we acknowledge the value home learning gives to our learners, and through a good home-school partnership we aim to work together with Parents and Carers to extend and enhance learning opportunities for our children. Home learning is intended to be an enjoyable and worthwhile activity for all.

Our aim is to

  • Raise standards, particularly in maths and literacy, by consolidating and reinforcing skills taught in the class.
  • Encourage children to read daily. We actively encourage ALL children to bring their reading diaries with them each day.
  • Encourage and develop independent learners.
  • Develop skills of motivation and self-confidence.
  • Further develop our partnership between school and parents by providing opportunities for pupils, parents and school to work together in sharing and supporting the work taking place at school.

As with our Prefects, the candidates for Head Boy and Head Girl undergo an interview process with the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher, who choose the Head Boy and Girl for the academic year. The Head Boy and Head Girl, along with the Prefects, carry out a number of duties throughout the school to help their teacher and other staff and have responsibilities for overseeing the behaviour of children at playtime and lunchtime.

Our school values underpin our school ethos

  • Collaboration
  • Resilience
  • Respect
  • Morality
  • Adaptability
  • Enquiry
  • Thoughtfulness
  • Communication

My eldest son attended this school and performed very well in his academics. I could see him improve day by day. Credit goes to the school and teachers
