We are a specialized boutique primary school located in the heart of Bangkok’s residential district, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city’s busy streets. Our school caters to students from three to eleven years of age with more than 40 different nationalities welcomed to our diverse community.

Our environment is one of the most beautiful in the world, presenting opportunities for inquiry where children and teachers co-construct, developing creative partnerships using a number of languages to explore curricular concepts pertinent to the various disciplines.

ELC provides children access to a rigorous curriculum designed to meet curricular learning goals, while at the same time understanding that each student has a wealth of knowledge, and experience that shape who they are, and their individual learning style. We celebrate the uniqueness of each, and every child.

Learning at ELC is approached through Inquiry, and this approach permeates all learning at our family of schools. Project, as it is known at ELC, is a process by which teachers and students alike, co-construct learning. For the teachers, it is a process of listening to the children, reflecting on their ideas while considering the curricular objectives, deciding how to best provide learning experiences that integrate the student’s ideas with curricular objectives in a rich manner, observing the children again, and making new teaching decisions, all in collaboration with our highly-qualified teaching team. And, for students, it is a process of discussing, listening, doing, questioning, problem solving, reflecting on their learning, offering ideas, hypothesizing, testing hypotheses, formulating theories, all in collaboration with each other, their teachers, and the project teaching team. Learning through ‘Project’ helps children to understand not only the what, but the why and how as well, as they make sense of the world around them.

We believe that a task as formidable as passing on the world’s accumulated knowledge, skills and values to the next generation requires both skilled educators, as well as an environment to support this passage. An environment has a powerful influence on a students thinking, learning, and well-being. Our environment is intentional. It is intrinsically intertwined with the curriculum, providing a back drop for all learning, one that values opportunities for inquiry, encourages curiosity, and provides provocations for further investigations. Ateliers strategically placed throughout the school offer the students the opportunity to explore through inquiry the curricular concepts relevant to the different disciplines. Cognitive, observational, communication, and social skills, critical thinking, visual and auditory exercise – all these come into play, as the children make use of all the languages at their disposal to stimulate this exciting new awareness that mathematics, physics, biology, art, music and every other subject they are studying are all interrelated. This is a curriculum that brings up, brings out, and brings forth. And, if you happen to be here at one of those magic moments when a child’s cognitive evolution has taken a giant leap forward, you might just see Math pirouetting to Mozart, Art whirling with Astronomy, Light dancing with Sound, Physics partying with Proust, and a roomful of wide-eyed children from a diversity of countries and cultures playing with Robotics like they were the greatest toys they’ve ever seen!

My 2 children attended this school for several years and we have always been very happy. The academic standards are high but there is just as much attention for the social development of the children, helping them grow to become critical thinkers and empathic global citizens. Plus the campus offers a calm, green escape from busy Bangkok.

Our daughter spent her pre-k at ELC. She developed some amazing friendships while there and really enjoyed her time at the school. The teachers were excellent as well.

Sent our 3 kids there, they were very happy. Student to teacher ratio is low, and educators are highly engaged. In my opinion, this is the best school for k1 to year 3

ELC has truly been a second home for my children; they’ve never once said they didn’t want to go to school. The school’s approach to education is exceptional, allowing them to enjoy the learning process while building confidence in themselves. Being heard and having their thoughts documented nurtures their self-esteem, shaping them into self-assured, curious learners.

World class primary school following Reggio Emilia philosophy, where our two boys had a couple of amazing years. The space looks deceivingly small but actually opens up into all kinds of cozy little nooks and crannies making the most of this super central premium real estate. It has been meticulously designed with amazing attention to detail. The teachers seem highly qualified and are devoted to their mission. I wish if only I had the chance to go to this school myself. Highly recommended.

We’ve been really happy with our experience at The City School Bangkok. The small, welcoming community has made our kids feel at home, and it’s been wonderful to watch them grow academically and personally. The emphasis on open-minded and creative learning has truly sparked their curiosity and passion for education. The diverse environment has helped them develop a deeper respect for others, and they genuinely look forward to school every day. As parents, it’s reassuring to see them so happy and thriving here. We couldn’t be more pleased with our experience—it’s been a great fit for our family.

I cannot say enough about our experience at ELC...what a great experience for our son! The curriculum, teachers and school's management are wonderful (as well as the resort-like campus). My son loved going to school each and every day. Even though we have found a great school in our new city/country my son still misses ELC.

As an oversees teacher, I had a very bad experience at this school as did several other teachers Who were working there at the same time. When I eventually decided to leave I was threatened by the director and her staff. Afterwards she refused to provide the dates I worked there to a current employer, possibly because so many years later she still held a grudge against me for leaving the school.
