Job Summary

Al Kindi Hospital, Manama, Bahrain is looking for a qualified and detail-oriented Infection Control Nurse to oversee and strengthen the hospital’s Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) program. The role involves monitoring healthcare-associated infections, conducting surveillance and audits, ensuring compliance with infection control standards, and providing training to healthcare staff. The ideal candidate will play a key role in outbreak management, policy development, and maintaining compliance with MOH Bahrain, NHRA, and international infection control guidelines to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor the hospital’s Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) program.
  • Conduct regular infection surveillance, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Monitor healthcare associated infections and prepare reports with recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with hand hygiene, PPE usage, isolation precautions, and environmental cleaning standards.
  • Provide infection control education and training to nursing, clinical, and support staff.
  • Participate in outbreak investigation, management, and reporting.
  • Review and update infection control policies and procedures in line with MOH Bahrain guidelines, NHRA and international standards.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership, quality, and facilities teams to improve infection control practices.
