The Sunshine Kindergarten

To maintain the position of The Sunshine Kindergarten (TSK) as Kuwait’s Premier Early Years Centre, it is essential that the students who gain admission meet standards that enable them to gain as much as possible from their learning experiences. We aim to make the process of finding out about our school and applying for a place for your child as straightforward as possible and we hope you find the information within this section useful.

TSK follows The Early Years Foundation Stage which are sets of standards for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old. All children who wish to join TSK must first tour the school and pass an age appropriate entrance assessment. The purpose of the assessment is to confirm their suitability for their age appropriate year group.

The admission assessment will take place during a 30 minute tour/appointment with the Admissions Coordinator. The appointment can either take place online or on campus. One of the child’s parents must be present for the assessment however, it is advisable that both parents attend the appointment with their child. The results of the assessment will be discussed with the parents at the end of the appointment.

Application process

Parents and students who are considering joining TSK may request an appointment. This can be arranged by contacting the Admissions Coordinator (AC). When parents contact the school they will be asked for the full name of the child and date of birth to confirm the relevant year group for their child.

The colleagues involved in the admissions process will be on hand to help and advise prospective parents throughout the application process. The various steps of the process are as follows:

Step One

Step Two

• The admissions team will book an admission assessment and tour for the year group being applied for.

Step Three

• Once the admissions assessment and tour has been conducted and the results processed, prospective parents will be told of the decision.

Step Four

• For students that are offered a place the next stage is for parents to complete the registration form and return it to the TSK registrar.

Step Five

• The next step is to visit the TSK Bursar in order to pay a non-refundable deposit, plus refundable compulsory charges.

• Return to the registrar to be given your parent code and child’s unique student number and receive final confirmation of admission.
