Procedure
Admission is based on past school records, entrance assessment, and in some cases, an interview and an English proficiency test. Newton British School admits qualified students on a first come, first serve basis.
Note: The child's previous school report must be attested from the child's home country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Collect an Application Form from the School Reception. Complete the form and return it to the Registrar or Receptionist including ALL of the following documents:
- Four (4) recent passport-sized photographs.
- Copy of the applicant's passport, including a copy of the Visa for non-GCC nationals.
- Copy of parents' (BOTH father and mother) passport, Visa, and ID card.
- Report from previous school.
- Copy of child's immunization record.
- Completed Medical form (included in the application form).
- A signed Fee Regulation form (included in the application form).
- Copy of Child's birth certificate.
NOTE: ALL documents MUST be submitted before the entrance exam date.
When these documents are returned to the Registrar or Receptionist, you may apply for a testing date and time, and pay QR 208 non-refundable entrance exam fee. Testing of students will be held by appointment.
After the entrance assessment, you will be notified of the results and be informed by phone or e-mail whether the school can offer a place.
NOTE: The school will not retain any document if the admission is not granted.
To confirm acceptance of this offer, you must visit the School's Accounts Office to pay QR 3,797 non-refundable registration fee. The school does not guarantee or reserve places. Places are guaranteed only when the required fees are paid. Failure to pay the registration fee will result in this place being offered to an alternative child.
Registration Policy for Newton Group
Receiving a new application
- Receiving the application with the needed supporting documents as below:
- 4 Photographs for the child.
- Copy of child’s Birth certificate.
- Copy of child’s Vaccination report.
- Copy of his/her previous school report (Stamped from the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign affairs in your country).
- Copy of Qatar ID for child and both parents.
- Copy of Passport for child and both parents.
- Any application with missing documents is not accepted and assessment will not take place.
- The student will be registered in the grade following his/her current grade provided that the latest school report for the current academic year was submitted, and the final end of year report to be submitted by August. If a student fails the end of year exams, and does not provide the completion report, he/she will be repeating the same grade based on the non-objection letter from the student’s parent as per the directives of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. If you fail to bring the final report on time, your son/daughter’s name will not be included in the class list for the next academic year.
- Assessment fees must be paid before the assessment (nonrefundable). Payment is done by card or bank transfer only.
Accepting the Student
- The seat will be offered when the student passes the assessment.
- Payment of Registration fees (nonrefundable) and deposit for term 1 to be paid within 3 days of the assessment.
- Once the Academic year starts, the seat reservation for the student is valid for the first two weeks only. Parents are advised to inform the school about late attendance in written form with the joining date being-mentioned and pay the full term fees in advance. Students failing to do so may not be accommodated if schools have no vacant places.
- Students are not to attend a school without a valid residence permit.
Withdrawal Policy
- If withdrawal should occur for any reason Parents need to sign a withdrawal form before one month of leaving school. Deposit will not be refunded if withdrawal was without informing the registration department before the mentioned period.
- If parents submitted the necessary documents that confirm the terminal of employment, then tuition fees paid can be refunded partially according to attendance period. (registration fees nonrefundable).
Transfer to another school
Among Newton Group
- To transfer to other Newton Branch, parents need to sign a transfer form and submit it to registration department in the period between 15 Jan – 31 Jan of each year. Transfer will take place according to available seats in the preferred branch. No transfer fees requested.
- Newton group ensures a seat for your child in any preferred branch if the next year class grade is not provided in the current branch. Parents need to inform the registration department and sign the transfer form between 15 Jan – 31 Jan.
Other School in Qatar
- To transfer to other school in Qatar, parents need to sign a transfer form and submit it to registration department in the period between 15 Jan – 31 Jan of each year.
- Vacancy Letter is needed from the other school in order to transfer the student through the Ministry of Education System.
- Transfer will occur after all due payments are paid.
Newton Schools are licensed by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and follow its directives and regulations.
