Complete a school tour and interview

Due to COVID, all school tours for the foreseeable future will be done virtually. Upon completing the virtual tour, each interested family will have an opportunity for a one-on-one virtual Q&A session with our Principal to help them learn further about the school.

Prior to the Q&A session with the principal, prospective parents will be sent links for an online school introduction and a virtual school tour. Please watch the videos and come to the Q&A session with a list of questions you would like to ask about UST.

We request the following documents to accompany your application:

  • Application form (submitted online)

Assessment/ Trial

UST does not conduct entrance examination for children applying into our pre-school program (ages 3YO). The admission decision is most commonly made based on the child & parent interview. Some students could be asked to attend a half-day trial to allow the school to assess their social-emotional development and ability to adapt.

Starting from Pre-K (K2 class), the School conducts age appropriate English Literacy and Maths skills assessments. Students applying from outside Japan are assessed based on previous school records, confidential recommendation and an oral English assessment via Skype.

Admission

Upon completing all the above application steps, successful applicants will receive a Letter of Admission from the school, followed by an invoice, indicating the amount and due dates for the joining fees. Joining fees are required to be paid in full and represent a one-time non-refundable amount required in order to secure your child's space at the school.
