All students wishing to gain entry to Ruthin School must first register on our online application system, Open Apply. Simply fill in the application form and submit the registration fee. The application form will ask for personal details, copies of identification documentation and school reports.
Reference Requested
Following application, references may be requested if transferring from another secondary school.
UK Students
For UK students, they will be invited to complete aptitude testing at the school and an interview will take place on the same day with a senior member of staff.
For students wishing to enter the Sixth Form, admission is based on predicted GCSE grades and an interview with a senior member of staff.
International Students
For international applicants, students will be invited for a detailed video interview (or in person where possible) with the Head or a senior member of staff. Following this, an offer of a place may be made or additional testing may be required at the discretion of the school.
Next Steps
Following this, all stages will be reviewed by the admissions team and the applicant will be informed of the outcome. An offer may be unconditional or stipulate certain conditions, for example GCSE grades or 1ELTs level. The enrolment process will then take place.
